THIS SET HAS QUICKLY WORKED ITS WAY TO THE TOP OF MY MANY HUNDREDS OF HOURS OF GRATEFUL DEAD MUSIC. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY DEADHEAD- NOVICE OR EXPERIENCED. THE DEAD HAVE ALWAYS STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE WHEN IT CAME TO CONCERTS AT THE FILMORE. If you enjoy early 70's Dead, Then you will enjoy this. I actually had parts of this release on tape. This is not all one show for those of you who are not familiar with the Dead. The Boys really show off their psychedelic nature on this one. Very similar to the albut The Grateful Dead (the live cd with the skeleton on the cover) Anyway, I really am enjoying it and it is good sound quality.Free Music Review: Can't get enough pigpen

I loved this CD. Any releases from Dead central that include Pig are always gonig to get high votes from me. Granted many of these songs have better versions out there somewhere but this whole package is four CD's of listening joy. Even the cowboy songs sound fantastic and the sound quality is outstanding. This box set is a must-have for Dead fans. I have had it for a few years, and it is still the Dead album that I listen to most. One of my favorite songs on it is El Paso, even though its not a Dead Song. I think this set really shows how good the Dead were live, and I reccomend it to anyone who likes the Grateful Dead.Free Music Review: It doesn't get any better

This is prototypical early 70s high energy live dead. It runs the gamut from country to folk to rock to bluegrass to space music, all with the dead's own special twist. For anyone who missed the experience of a live show in those days, buy this. You won't be disappointed.
