Free Music Notes for Grease (Original 1978 Motion Picture Soundtrack)Free Music Review: The Good Ol' Days Hit: 5 StarsI listened to this record as a child every single day for years growing up (late 70's/early 80's). It was my first introduction to original Rock'n'Roll. I knew about Sha-Na-Na before I knew about Elvis or Chuck Berry (similar to my experience of seeing Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band the movie and thinking the Bee Gees came up with those songs!). I was also convinced that people in the 50's and 60's broke out into song constantly. This is worth those memories.
Free Music Review: An absolute fantasic instant classic Hit: 5 Stars
I think Grease is an absolute classic. There is really nothing like it. John Travolta was in his prime. The music is fantastic and it is so fun to watch.
Other classics not to forget about are:
Mary Poppins
My Fair Lady
The Wizard of Oz
Chitty Chitty Bang Band
The first Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Sound of Music
Oliver
West Side Story
Fiddler on the Roof
Singing in the Rain
The Wiz
Little Mermaid
Aladdin
Beauty and the Beast
Grease
The King and I
Oklahoma
The Music Man
South Pacific
My Voice Students are always asking me for recommendations so I though I'd post it for all! We can't forget about these great musicals!
Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack Hit: 5 StarsMost movie soundtracks are full of songs that aren't that good. Grease on the other hand is full of songs by a steller cast. Each one is a glimpse either into the era that is the birth of rock and roll or into the viscuous life of the American teenager.
Good songs that are worth listening to over and over.
Free Music Review: Excellent! Hit: 5 StarsThis is an excellent CD! I couldn't help but listen to it over and over and OVER! The sound quality is wonderful and it sounds like it came straight from the movie itself!
Free Music Review: The best movie soundtrack!!! Hit: 5 StarsIf you love the movie you will just LOVE this soundtrack. It is the perfect mix of all kinds of music.
