Grease was a excellently done production. And it has the best soundtrack of all soundtracks!!! Music today isn't the way it used to, and the tunes on this CD take you back to the rockin and rollin fifties where Travolta and Newton-John turn out to be good singers in these well-put together tunes.
The cast knew that "You're The One That I Want" was going to be a hit. Indeed it was. It's my favorite track on the CD!!!
I also enjoyed "Grease", "Summer Nights", "Hopelessly Devoted To You", "Sandy", "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee" and the reprise, "Greased Lightnin'", "It's Raining On Prom Night", "Blue Moon", "Born To Hand Jive", "Mooning", "Freddy My Love", "Rock N Roll Party Queen", "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" and "We Go Together". A wonderful soundtrack not to be missed! Five stars!
And as the years get farther away from the days of the fifties, this CD will be there to bring teens of the future back to the days of "Rama lama lama ke ding a dinga dong"

Grease was made in 1978. The stars of the movie are John travolta and Olivia newton john.My favorite songs in the movie are Sandy ,Summer nigts ,Greased lightin,Youre the one that I want. The others are Jeff conaway ,Stockard channing ,Eve arden ,Didi conn Sid ceaser and Frankie avalon.Grease is based on the broadway show. I was only 9 years old when this movie came out, and I still remember my friends father taking us to the theater to see it - we were still singing the songs to eachother way past our bedtime, and loving every minute of it!
Then, when I was in my 20's, I remember being at various clubs & bars that would play the music from Grease, and every time the entire place would come alive with everyone singing along - its just that kind of music - your feet seem to start moving and your voice start singing before you even know whats happening...
The music from Grease in definately 1950's in style, and includes rock-n-roll, doo wop & ballads - there's quite a lot of variety when you think about it.
Overall, I would highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoyed the movie/play &/or likes 50's-style music. You won't be disappointed!

If you've ever watched "Grease" the movie, you would definitely tantalized to buy this album. That movie is one of the greatest musicals has ever made. I enjoyed every song and every scene of it and ordered the CD soundtrack from amazon.com
But this CD rather dissapointed me. first of all, it's quality is not good and sounds are not sharp. second, the quality of print and packaging is awful. it's more like one of that cheap bootleg CDs made in Singapore. yeas, made in singapore not China cause it's quality is better than chinese media products. An ordinary black jewel case with a low quality inside card. no inlay and a single sided back cover. All dark and low in quality. CD itself has no print on it except some words and writings. everyone knows a good coverage of print, protects CD from scratches but in this case,yu'll even be sick of cleaning your fingerpirints from cd printable surface. I was not satisfied with this product. I suggest you try 2 discs remastered edition of this album which is availale in amazon.com! I've heard that it's quality is better than this one!
