Before I start, I just wanna say, I ain't no kid, I'm 15 and I have an account but it was being all weird so I'm using the kids form. Anyways...
Here's a list of bands I listen to that aren't posers like Green Day and they all actually know how to play their instruments. Not to metion they are MUCH better bands.

Now, you all are probably wondering: (in a whiny voice) "Oh, why are hating on my favorite band who has complete instrumental knowledge not to mention some of the best songs ever created?" WHY!?" Because I don't want your ears to be flooded with the crappy music Green Day produces.I'm doing you all a favor by exposing all of the lies that reside in this band. No, they do not "rock", they play the same 3 power chords in every song then they just add crappy and/or weak lyrics. That's not real music! Try any of the bands I listed, they all have real music that makes you think, even the only nu-metal bands I like,Slipknot and Disturbed, can make you think if you give them a chance. I gave Green Day a chance and the failed. So if you're smart, you'll try some of the bands I listed. And trust me, there's at least one band you'll like more than Green Day.
P.S. Green Day is NOT POLITICAL!!!There's been lies saying the Green Day is the only political band ever. Rage Against The Machine and to an extent, System Of A Down are far more better political band than Green Day.
Free Music Review: The most overrated of all Green Day albums

I have Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning, and American Idiot.
Dookie was the first green day album I ever listened to. However, I even admit to myself how much better the guitar playing and song structure was on Warning and American Idiot compared to Dookie.
While it is still good, there is a distinct lack of originality in guitar playing and song structure, as well as different elements such as brass instruments which were heard in Nimrod's King for a Day.
Dookie's strength was from Longview, Welcome to Paradise, Basket Case, and When I come Around. These songs are good, but not nearly as musically creative like the later works. Probably the best two songs were Welcome to Paradise due to the emotional background (but is still very weak and unfelt compared to American Idiot) and Basket Case's catchy, hilarious song about somebody with Panic disorder.
I am a huge Green Day fan, and I completely agree as a guitarist/musician myself that the later works rightfully deserve the praise they got (compared to old Dookie fans say) as being better.
Still, songs like Basket Case and Welcome to Paradise are true classics and Dookie is what got Green Day famous.

I started to like green day when i first heard the song "welcome To Paradise" on the on-damand feature for comcast. So i bought this cd because of welcome to paradise.I garantee it will be one of your favorates on this cd.So when i listened to the other songs,i said "man these are all the same" .But after a few listens,i relized that each and every song is the most amazing song.And evry day i listened to it happily while doing homework.Witch then led me into buying "Insomniac" and "Nimrod" and "shinanagans" and the rest of thier cd's.And all of those also take time to get used to.But they are all briliant.If you are looking to buy a new cd,like alternative rock,and dont know what to buy,you must get dookie.It has been an instant classic since it first launched out in 1994.Free Music Review: AWESOME!!!

Green Day rocks! I love the old Green Day. My opinion is you aren't a true Green Day fan unless you've at least heard their old stuff. It's so true. THIS IS A VERY GOOD CD. GET IT.
