Free Music Review: Great
Hit: 5 Stars

The reason there's no songs from "1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" & "Kerplunk!" is 3/4 because no singles were released for either album, and the albums are on Lookout Records, not Reprise. Anywho, this is the single collection (1994-2001) and it is great.

1. Maria - New single, that was released on 1 of the "Warning" singles. Cool song. [A]

2. Poprocks & Coke - Was released as a single almost right before "Superhits!" was released. Good song. [A-]

3. Longview - Classic GD. This spoke out to the lazy teens of 1994. [From "Dookie" - A+]

4. Welcome to Paradise - Wait, GD rookies. Before you say, "Hey, 'Welcome to Paradise' was on 'Kerplunk'!," this is the 1994 version. An alternate version was on 'Kerplunk!' Good song. [From "Dookie" and "Kerplunk" (altenate version) - A+]

5. Basket Case - Classic song. [From "Dookie" - A+]

6. When I Come Around - I don't know who hasn't heard this song. Good song. [From "Dookie" - A+]

7. She - Good. [From "Dookie" - A-]

8. J.A.R. - Wait, this wasn't a single! It was on the "Angus" soundtrack. Weird. Good song though. [From "Angus" movie soundtrack - A+]

9. Geek Stink Breath - Great lyrics, but too slow for a 2:15 song. [From "Insomniac" - B-]

10/11: Brain Stew/Jaded - I only have these paired cuz you will always see them together. The video, radio, and whatever. Good songs. [From "Insomniac" - A+]

12. Walking Contradiction - Great song. [From "Insomniac - A+]

13. Stuck with Me - AWESOME SONG! If you watch VH1, you've probably heard this song. [From "Insomniac" - A+]

14. Hitchin' A Ride - Did Bob Dylan write this? [From "Nimrod" - A+]

15. Good Riddance - Good acoustic song. [From "Nimrod" - A+]

16. Redundant - Come on. Give me a break. [From Nimrod - B-]

17. Nice Guys Finish Last - Great song. [From Nimrod - A+]

18. Minority - Good. [From Warning - A-]

19. Warning - Great. [From Warning - A]

20. Waiting - Good, but overplayed on the radio. [From Warning - A]

21. Macy's Day Parade - THIS SONG IS A STINKBOMB. [From Warning -F]

Good place to get started for "GD rookies."

Free Music Review: This. Is. Awesome!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I'd only heard a few Green Day songs that weren't off American Idiot but this album is a must have.

Maria - 9/10 - An anti-government song, fast paced and angry.
poprocks and coke 5/10 - Too slow, very boring compared to the others. My least favourite.
longview 10/10 - This is just hilarious, I love the idea that laziness is great. "When masturbation's lost it's fun, you're f***ing breaking..."
welcome to paradise 10/10 - one of their earliest, this is just brilliant. Reminds me of Hastings.
basket case 11/10 - this is one of the best songs ever - it's funny, bouncy, random and completely amazing. Love it. It's impossible NOT to!
when I come around - 9.5/10 - Not the catchiest but it's a fab song and a more chilled out one.
she 8/10 - Took a while to grow on me, but very good.
J.A.R. ( Jason Andrew Relva ) 8/10 - see above.
geek stink breath 10/10 - growly and about drugs... there's something about it that makes it really good!
brain stew 10/10 - sticks in your head like brain honey.
jaded 7/10 - very very very fast paced song. pointless but not bad!
walking contradiction 7/10 - ok.
stuck with me 8/10 - i didn't like it at first but since getting insomniac i like it.
hitchin a ride 10/10 - it's catchy and has violins. it's about a guy talking to a cab driver.
good riddance( time of your life ) - this is the best song ever written. it still makes me cry because it's so heartachingly beautiful and it reminds me of the love of my life, it's romantic, depressing and hopeful all at once. the most gorgeous song ever. i wish billie joe had looked hotter in the video.
redundant 7/10 - ok..
nice guys finish last 8/10 - don't pat yourself on the back - you might break your spine. Great lyrics!
minority 10/10 - A predecessor of American Idiot, but just as good. the video's funny too! and it's quite easy to understand what the hell he's on about.
warning 10/10 - the kodak song. sticks in your head like superglue and firmly gets rid of brain stew.
waiting 6/10 - a bit boring..
macy's day parade 8/10 - it's really depressing so you need to be in the right mood to listen to it!

Free Music Review: Here is what I think of my favorite band's greatest hits cd.
Hit: 5 Stars

Here is what I think of my favorite band's greatest hits cd.

Green Day's International Superhits cd is pretty good. It has 21 songs. Is just over an hour long. It has all the lyrics for all the songs. And the packaging is pretty cool looking. Plus there are 2 previously unreleased songs that were not on any other Green Day album, plus a hit of theirs that was only available before on the Angus soundtrack, that is now included here.

The first new track Maria sounds like a rollicking rocker that is a mix of sounds from Nimrod and Warning. The other new track Poprocks And Coke sounds like an good chugging jam that is a mix of sounds from Warning and American Idiot. The track off the Angus soundtrack J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva) sounds like a punk sing along type of song that sounds like a mix of Dookie and Insomniac.

Okay, now what I would do to improve this cd. I am not going to name songs, but there are songs that I would take off. And there are some or a lot of songs that I would put on. I would also try to get the cd as close to 80 minutes as I could, instead of being just above 60 minutes. I can fit my 3 favorite songs off of each of their 9 cds and come up with a mix that is 79 minutes and 52 seconds long. That is the International Superhits I would have made.

I only mentioned the 3 songs that aren't available on any other Green Day cds. I am sure you know some, most, or all of these songs already. So you pretty much have your mind made up I think. But this is a great cd to start off on if you are just getting into Green Day.

If you like or love Green Day, get this cd. If you are one of the people who is a total Green Day fan but mad at them for releasing a greatest hits cd, get over that fact and pick up this cd too. Everyone who picks up this cd should also pick up the Green Day b-sides, rarities, and outtakes cd Shenanigans as a companion piece to this cd as they make a great pair.

I hope you enjoy Green Day's International Superhits cd, and all their other cds. I know I love them and I hope you purchase this, any, or all the Green Day cds. I am sure you will love them as I do. Thank you for reading this and goodbye for now.

Free Music Review: Green Day - International Superhits Review
Hit: 5 Stars

Green Day is one of the most outstanding bands to have ever risen in the music scene. They are the one of a few bands who have stayed true to their roots since their inception early in the 90's filled with Grunge and the leftovers from 80's hair bands. They have stayed true to their style and haven't let market influence and the rapid changing of the music industry effect their outlook.

International Superhits is a greatest hits album that features 19 of the bands major-label songs from their four album releases, and two new songs ("Maria," and "Poprocks & Coke").

The CD is laid in in chronological order starting with the bands breakthrough disc Dookie moving into the easily forgettable Insomniac then branching to the catchy Nimrod and finally settling down on the band's latest, and greatest effort, Warning.

Looking over the track listing you still see at least six, if not more, songs that you can still hear on the radio today. It just goes to further intensify that Green Day has the staying power to be around long after the they are gone (but let's hope that never happens).

Not to be outdone, Green Day also included two new tracks on this "greatest hits" album. The disc's new single, "Maria" is a catch tune that shows that the band hasn't lost their touch. The second new track "Poprocks & Coke," while isn't as catchy as "Maria," is certainly well deserving on this CD.

Green Day is one of the greatest bands to hit the mainstay in a long time, and we can only hope that they will continue to produce the same high caliber music we got on their last four CDs. Sure any hardcore fan is going to have all of the CD's that these songs came from, but same yourself some space in your CD player and pick up International Superhits, and have all of those great songs right at your fingertips.

-Erich Becker thinks this is the greatest thing since Wadded Beef.
