Free Music Notes for International Superhits!

Free Music Review: Good for what it is: a Green Day best-of
Hit: 5 Stars

I've been into Green Day since 1994 (they were really the first band I liked), and I own all of their albums (including 1,039/Smooth and Kerplunk), so besides the two new tracks (which I could just have easily downloaded on mp3), I really had no reason to get this album. However, one day I was at [a department store] and noticed a copy that was already open. They said I could have it for [cheaper], so I figured "Why Not?" and bought it.

Everybody knows the songs featured on here: "When I Come Around", "Basket Case", "Good Riddance", "Brain Stew/Jaded", etc. In fact, every hit that Green Day has had from Dookie to Warning is on here, hence the name "International Superhits!". (Sadly, there are no songs from the first two albums, but I'll survive.) These are the great hits that have had us singing along since the first time we heard them. Also included are two new songs: "Maria", which is the fun punk-pop style we've come to love from Green Day, and "Poprocks & Coke", a slower-paced love song of sorts. It also has "J.A.R." from the soundtrack to Angus (one of the greatest movies ever).

All in all, if you're just casually into Green Day, than this is the one you should get, or if you're looking to get into the band, this CD is a good place to start. I also recommend their music video DVD, International Supervideos.

Snoochie boochie noochies!

Free Music Review: Poser is wrong
Hit: 5 Stars

"These freaks get pleasure out of torturing women and cutting them up.

Good Riddance is a song about killing someone and not wanting to say good riddance to them because they are happy.

Brain Stew is about being a cannibal and eating someone...just read the lyrics.

Minority is a racist song about not liking blacks! How ignorant these people are!

Basket Case is about putting a womens and a dead baby's head in a basket! How sick!

I hate these killers who get away with everything.!

They aren't punk, but posers! "

That is so not true.

Good Riddance is not about killing someone; nowhere in the lyrics does it say or even imply death.

Brain Stew is a little messed up. If anything it's about hurting himself, not killing another person.

Minority does not mention anything against black people or any racism.

Basket Case does not even have the words: woman, dead, head, baby, or basket. You just made that BS up.

You said they they are killers, well I don't see who they killed.
If they killed someone it would probably be on the news. It's just another one of your lies.

BTW - it's cheaper to download WinMX or Kazaa Lite K++ and then just download the songs from other people.

Free Music Review: Awesome
Hit: 5 Stars

Green Day rocks. My favorite songs are Basket Case, When I Come Around, and Good Riddance. But I was wondering, why are so many people comparing Green Day and Blink-182? I've always compared Green Day with The Offspring, because they sound more similar and the media attention wasn't as big as it was on Blink. Let's highlight Green Day's career and Blink's career shall we: Green Day- formed in 1989 and released 2 albums before signing to a major label in 1994 and becoming the first breakthrough pop-punk act, they won tons of rock awards and alternative awards that year and gained lots of respect for their live shows, then in 1997 they made the ballad Time of Your Life which is still a classic today. Okay now, Blink: Formed in 1993 (4 years after Green Day...) and recorded a sloppy demo on their formed drummer's boom box. They released 2 CD's in 1994 on a small label, but then in 1997 got signed to a major label and made Dude Ranch, with the hit "Dammit". In 1999, they released Enema and became huge pop stars. They were on MTV constantly, Mark hosting TRL, girls loving them, etc. They were nominated at the MTV Awards for best POP video in the same category as Nsync. The same year they won "Sexiest Band" from Teen People... Wow their careers are reaaaallly similar...

Free Music Review: The true creators of modern day Punk Rock
Hit: 5 Stars

The Offspring, Blink 182, Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Eve 6. Those are just some of the popular pop-punk bands of today. None of these bands would have had any success and probably wouldn't even exist without Green Day. Each one the above bands, and many other less-popular bands, owe there earnings to Green Days revolutionary formula. Even though they were first, they're still the best. Throughout each new release Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre kept re-inventing themselves and their music to fit with the times.

Every song that was ever a hit for them is included, making this the essential collection for anyone new to the world of Green Day. Looking at all the tracks on this album, it would be difficult to make a case as to why Green Day isn't one of the most important bands of all-time. None of the songs really needs any introduction or explaination as tracks like "Basket Case," "When I Come Around," "Brain Stew," "Geek Stink Breath," "Hitchin' a Ride" "Good Riddance" and the recent "Minority" are widely regarded as a few of the greatest punk songs ever created.

If somehow you missed out on Green Day, or simply want to complete your collection, International Superhits cannot be missed.

Free Music Review: "Waiting" a long time for this...
Hit: 5 Stars

Just bought this CD, and listening to it as I write for extra inspiration. Can I say "great"? I'm very happy with this purchase......This is a nice compilation that in my opinion, covered all my favorites of Greenday's CD releases. If you like a band, let's face it, you can't go too wrong with a greatest hits CD all the cuts on the CD, my absolute favorite is "Waiting" from the "Warning" CD. Some Greenday fans will disagree, but to me, this song is their best. It has a Beatle-esque beauty that appeals to my love of jangly melodic guitar pop. I love the sliding riffs in the guitar solos, and the bridges between the hook. This cut is a classic masterpiece of formulaic pop, and some won't like it for that reason alone, but I LOVE IT. this CD, it has all the best songs that any Greenday fan would like on one disc. "When I Come Around", "Geek Stink Breath", "Longview", "She" and more! Even if it misses a cut or two for those out there with a particular favorite CD track that WASN'T included, you'll still cover a good 90% of your favorites. be left "Waiting" for your copy when it's gone. It's a must have.
