Free Music Notes for International Superhits!Free Music Review: A nice Green Day retrospective Hit: 5 Stars
Green Day has become one of the most legendary punk bands of all-time. This collection, 'International Superhits!,' spans their Reprise years, 1995-2002. Although the legendary 'American Idiot' isn't covered (it wasn't released yet, obviously), you still get a great set of 21 legendary classics.
Green Day's music is simply amazing. Billie Joe Armstrong has the ultimate punk rock voice, Mike Dirnt is a great bass player, and Tre Cool is a great drummer. This trio is a trio not to ignore, and if you're just getting into Green Day, buy this set.
So how does this set measure up?
Positives
-EVERY MAJOR REPRISE HIT IS HERE!!! 'She,' 'Basket Case,' 'Longview,' 'Warning' and 'Geek Stink Breath' are all here for your listening pleasure.
-THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT!
Negatives
-Why aren't the early Lookout years (1990-1992) featured on this set? The original 'Welcome To Paradise,' 'Green Day,' '2000 Light Years Away' and their great cover of The Who's 'My Generation' are all missing from this set.
Overall, you can't go wrong with this set. Highly recommended for any Green Day fan. ENJOY!!!
Free Music Review: Green Day's Way Of Saving You [money] Hit: 5 Stars
I've never owned a Green Day CD in my life...and then I bought "International Superhits!" from my local record store. It's 19 tracks of Green Day goodness plus two unreleased tracks...and I love every second of this recording. Every song is different with catchy lyrics and equally interesting music. A very fine investment for any Punk Rock fan.Basically, it's a Greatest Hits CD. However, it's got every song that Green Day used to gain their hit status. They certainly chose the rights songs, as something just feels right about the tracks in the way their set up. It starts out fast and heavy...and then slows down slightly near the middle and finally ends with "Macy's Day Parade", which is by far the best ending track. It leaves you satisfied and craving for another listen. I've gone through it twice before and actually felt bad when my batteries died on my Walkman. If you own every Green Day up until now, just download the two extra tracks ('Maria' and 'Poprocks & Coke'). If you're trying to fit in with Punk main-stream (You poser, you! :P), then buy this first. If you don't like it...go after 'Dookie'. That's a damn good CD too.
Free Music Review: A Must Have for Green Day Fans Hit: 5 Stars
I don't care what anyone says. Green Day is one of my favorite bands. They are one of the main reasons for me listening to music. I've liked them since sixth grade, and they're still around. They put out great music all the time. Sure, people have given them a hard time, but I really don't see why. They are a great group who can still come up with great songs. This CD is their greatest hits album. It contains many hits, like "Longview," "Basket Case," "Stuck with Me," "Walking Contradiction," and many more. From "Dookie" to "Warning," this CD has it all. There are even two bonus tracks, which are new songs, and one song that you could only get from a movie sountrack. It's too bad that there aren't any songs from the first two albums, but I guess that's because none of them became top hits. Though, they still could've been included somehow. Other than that, this album is pretty much perfect! If you love Green Day, then this CD is for you! It has all of the top hits on it. I'm glad that they finally came out with a greatest hits album. It's about time.
Free Music Review: A Proper Overview Of A Commericially Significant Band Hit: 5 Stars
For the past decade Green Day have been serving up their own form of punky, rock-oriented, pop songs which have often broken through the mainstream charts continuasly to the warm welcome of American "pop-punks" that came up in groves, perhaps due to the predominantly 90's band to begin with; whom at the time had four mainstream albums to date, all of which had a fair amount of fluff to break through before accessing the meat.
Finally these chart-topping songs are properly compiled in a 21-song LP that will please new and old fans of the band, perhaps also due to the added-on two never-before-released tracks which the albums in initiated by; both of which feature a stylistically altered sound in comparison to the traditional "distortion pedal, ragged pop vocal, bouncy bass, and driving drum" formula.
In end, they'll never be the best band or come close to the most original, the point is these three ex-acid-punks never claimed to be that, and so this digitally remastered 60+-minute mish-mash gets five glowing stars. Rock on, pop-punkers!

Free Music Review: Excellent CD, but don't buy it. Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great CD, but i guarentee once you buy it you'll have to buy all the other Green Day CDs, and you'll have everything on there anyways (except for Poprocks & Coke and Maria). So it's almost a waste of money, though the picture of Billie Joe in drag is priceless. If you want to hear these songs before buying the other CDs, then go watch the videos on yahoo. Instead I recommend buying one of the four earlier ones used in the CD: Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod (my personal favorite), or Warning:. (And after those go and buy the other three: Kerplunk, 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, & Shenanigans)
If you're new to Green Day, and have only heard their recent stuff from American Idiot, you should definitely listen to these songs somewhere. It's a lot less pop-ish, and actually better, I think. Not that American Idiot isn't phenominal. But these songs are a bit more easy to relate to than the story in AI. Songs about boredom, being high on/addiction to drugs & alcohol, etc.
They are all amazing songs, all but two are in other CDs. If you are unsure about Green Day, listen on yahoo music.
