Free Music Notes for WarningFree Music Review: WARNING: AN ACTUAL REVIEW! (9/10) Hit: 5 Stars
So, this was one of the lesser known, or cared for, Green Day albums. But, I think it is a very great album. I find it as one of their better albums, next to Dookie and 21st Century Breakdown. So, allow me to go in depth with you to review this album.
1. Warning (9/10) Not one of my favorite songs, but a good one, nevertheless. A good way to kick start an album. People don't seem to think that Green Day could have topped this song on this album, but there are better to come.
2. Blood, Sex and Booze (9/10) Such a kinky and catchy tune! It's like one catch to another hook. You wont see it coming the first time around.
3. Church On Sunday (10/10) I'm not promoting anything, but this song is so good, I did a cover of it. It is another catchy song, but has a different message than the others. Fun song!
4. Fashion Victim (8/10) I never really got into this song until the 4th or 5th listen. Now, I find it funny that I didn't like it sooner.
5. Castaway (8/10) Sadly, I never gotten into this song... I haven't listened to it in a while, so maybe I will think differently next time around.
6. Misery (10/10) Oh yes... That is all I have to say is that. The song is completely different than the rest of the album, making it so odd. Then the kick of the song comes along that you never see coming. It reminds me of "Peacemaker" from 21st Century Breakdown.
7. Deadbeat Holiday (9/10) A fun jam to listen to. Sadly, I never liked it until my... 11th listen. But hey. Not everything is good the first 10 times around.
8. Hold On (7/10) An okay song, but even if this song is about death, it doesn't feel like so... The only disappointing song on the album.
9. Jackass (10/10) Another song I covered. So hooky and catchy, you wouldn't think Green Day, or even Billie Joe wrote this song. Sends a nice message basically saying that being a fool isn't always a good thing.
10. Waiting (10/10) Another song that you wouldn't expect for this album. A song that simply says "Do not give up on that dream that you have had for so long, because that opportunity might hit you someday." will usually get a 10 in my book.
11. Minority (10/10) I knew this song was on the album, but near the end? Oh well. I like the way it is written. It is a song against authority, like what Green Day is. Against all major authority. They don't care about the rules, they just want to play.
12. Macy's Day Parade (10/10) A very touchy song... All that you want you might not get is what this song feels like it is based around. A nice way to end the album. I wish that there was more...
Oh wait. Did I forget that I accidentally got the UK version? So there IS one more song.
13. 86 (Live in Prague) (8/10) Originally from Insomniac, this exclusive live version isn't as good as the original. But it is still as energetic as the original...
Okay, so maybe I didn't get the UK version... But I felt it should have been included...
So that wraps up another review on another album. Please pick this up wherever it is sold, since I almost didn't get it.
Free Music Review: Green Day-Punk NOT Posers Hit: 5 Stars
This is by far one of the best cds I've ever heard. My favorite from Green Day. My favorite song ever is Castaway. People that are calling Green Day posers really need to stop. Wow, they tried something new! Let's sue them!!! NO. They've been a band longer than I've lived on this planet. (no, I'm not from outer space...I'm just 12) Green Day teaches people to be who they are and that they shouldn't be afraid to show some self respect. Take Minority for example-Stepped out of the line/like a sheep runs from the herd/Marching out of time/to my own beat now-They want you to show your individuality people! Have those haters of Green Day even heard their music? Have you given them a chance. Wow, you hear one sample of a song-maybe-and you think they suck. THATS NOT GIVING THEM A CHANCE!!! Stop trashing, start listening.
Warning-Title track! I love how they added the sirens and special sounds
Blood, Sex, & Booze-Sorta inappropriate name but I think he sounds sexy(yes, I like Billie!) and it really is a good song
Church on Sunday-I repeat it alot. A nice fun song
Fashion Victim-One of my other favorites on the cd. This song is so cool
Castaway!!!-My favorite song...EVER. It gets annoying if you repeat it over and over at a time, I know from experience but I still love it none the less
Misery-A different song. I sing it alot. I've memorized so many songs (I own four cds) and this is a definate favorite to sing.
It also has a spanish/french feel to it with different instruments that you hear featured in those types of songs.
Deadbeat Holiday-I love the lyrics. And Billie's cat, Zero, really did die in the dryer. So sad.
Hold on-An overall great song. Billie plays the harmonica in this song. I especially love when they come to the middle of the song where you hear like, a stomping sound...love it all.
Jackass-They don't say the word in the song so thats a good thing for a kid like me. "Everybody loves a joke but no one likes a fool"-so true.
Waiting-A feel-good song, I can almost relate. I love how you think the song is over in the middle, then all of a sudden, he goes onto saying "Dumbstruck, color me stupid." That's cool
Minority-Alot of the times I seem to forget this song is on here. It is one of my favorites but I'm so used to the setup of International Superhits, where they go straight from Waiting to Macy's Day Parade. But I still LOVE this song. Great lyrics, so true.
Macy's Day Parade-Sort of a sad song. But a great end to the cd.
My favorites overall from Green Day:
1)Castaway/Blvd. of Broken Dreams
2)Holiday/Minority
3)Hitchin' a Ride/Whatsername

Free Music Review: Green Day has grown up Hit: 5 Stars
With the release of their fourth major label album "Warning" Green Day shows once again that they aren't your average "punk-rock" band. Gone are the three power chord angst filled songs, but the catchy harmonies that made "Dookie" a commercial success are back. However, this is "Warning" and not "Dookie." The title track in itself asks "Is the cop or am I the one that's really dangerous?" That's pure Green Day...defiance, questioning everything and so on. "Blood, Sex, And Booze" is a good track that has a catchy beat and you just can't help but to tap your toes to. "Church on Sunday" explores the new direction of Green Day, asking the question "If I promise to go to church on Sunday, will you go with me on Friday night? If you live with me I'll die for you and this compromise." "Fashion Victim" explores the pop culture of brand name clothes, asking "what's in the name?" "Castaway" is one of the best tracks on the album, telling the story of a loner trying to find his way. Then, the album gets incredible.."Misery" is a Russian-Spanish style song with acordians used very nicely, and with Bille Joe's vocals telling different stories of troubled people. "Deadbeat Holiday" is a decent song, with a message that attacks all losers who do nothing about themselves. "Hold On" is a song written by BJ for a friend who had three loved ones die in the same year. He says "When there's nothing left to hold on to, you gotta hold on to yourself." "Jackass" is a song about just that...idiots. The main line says "Everybody loves a joke, but no one likes a fool." How true. "Waiting" is another of the breakthrough, non angst songs that inspires hope in the listener. "I've been waiting a lifetime for this moment to come, I'm destined for anything at all." If you're reading this, then odds are you've already heard "Minority" the song that wants to be the underprivilaged and have their attitudes toward authority (for the most part). And finally, perhaps the greatest song on the album, "Macy Day Parade" is a wonderful ballad, similar to "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" but in a whole other direction. This beautiful song conveys the message that "I'm thinking about a brand new hope, the one I've never known, 'cause now I know it's all that I've wanted." Overall, this album is a pure gem, although it will be marred by critics because it isn't "Dookie" and the standards have been set so high. But who cares? They are happy, and the album is wonderful. I recommend this to the die-hard Green Day fan, and to those who have never liked them as well. The guys should be proud of this effort!

Free Music Review: Old Greenday, New Greenday, both great Hit: 5 Stars
Green Day is my favorite band of all time, and i've loved them since kerplunk, and they have definitely changed from those days. People call them sell outs but true fans stick with them. Personally, i think the new greenday is so much cooler because they change their sound, and unlike most punk rock bands, every song on their cd is unique and different. Billie Joe is an awesome songwriter and can go so far past the normal punk 3 power chord song. This album stretches out and reaches so many types of music, and reaches so many different topics. Its not little love songs like most songs, but it goes about life, and church on sunday shows how the band has matured and talks about the relationships with their wives (all 3 almost 30) and shows the hope they have now, and compromise and how they want to live. Sure dookie was fun, it was loud, crazy and billie screamed about masturbation, growing up, and his clever tunes about how much life sucks and how he's a slacker. It was great to listen to but warning saves that, and adds more, "castaway" goes back to "burnout" days from dookie and "minority" sounds like something from insomniac, while "macys day parade" is an excellent ballad similar to "Time of Your Life." Here is a rundown of the 12 track record:1. Warning - Lyrics are real cool, simple, catchy, good, not my favorite. 8/10 2. Blood Sex and Booze - Reminds me of "Hitchin a Ride." Great change of pace, one of the harder songs especially on the chorus. 9/10 3. Church on Sunday - Meaningful, great chorus, definitely on of the best. 10/10 4. Fashion Victim - Nice little storylike song lyrically referring to billie, nice riff, good song. 8.5/10 5. Castaway - One of the punk rocker songs, goes back to the older greenday, nice lyrics. 9/10 6. Misery - Shows the difference in Warning. Definitely doesnt sound like greenday. sounds like a mexican/russian folk song, my least favorite song, but the chorus is cool. 7.5/10 7. Deadbeat Holiday - Really GOOD. The verses are great, and one of the better songs, has a good feeling to it, nice rhymes. 9.5/10 8. Hold On - Definitely a Beatles influenced song. Deep meaning, about hardships in life, and how you have to keep going, nice tunes, great song. 8.5/10 9. Jackass - nice description of somebody, maybe a form of jealousy in it, also deeper, very cool. 8.5/10 10. Waiting - The outro is wonderful, and im wondering where the song leads, once again, not something the older greenday could do, AWESOME. 10/10 11. Minority - The big hit, very catchy, nice little hook on the pledge, chorus is a little shaky, and might get annoying, still great. 9/10 12. Macys Day Parade - Controversial meanings, but great, the chorus is excellent, a nice closer to the cd. LISTEN TO THIS CD LOUD, IT IS SO GOOD.
