Free Music Notes for WarningFree Music Review: There "classic rock" record. Hit: 5 Stars
There "classic rock" record, Or so says Gutiar world magazine. I dident have any other records, I lost them years ago. Ive bought them all again. This album is very good except for a few things. Before I bring out the negitive, lemme talk about the songs. WARNING- is a good song, acoustic. And is the first glimse of the fall of Tre as a drummer, which I will mention later. I like it, it is catchy. BLOOD, SEX AND BOOZE- This sounds closer to something from in my opinon there best album Nimrod(well tied with Isomniac). Its more of a rock song, then most of the rest. A highlight. CHURCH ON SUNDAY- This is probly my favorite song on the album. Great chorus, and great song writing. But of course Tre, is missing, I will mention later. FASHION VICTIM- One of the more average songs on the album. Basic rift, with a good chourus. The not great production, and not so great drums, keep parts of the song from shining. CASTAWAY- A good song. The closest song to punk on the album. A new turn of punk for green day. Good everything. MISERY- Youv read reviews about this song. With the madelion and the other greek sounds. Great song. So far 5 out of 6 songs are worth-while. DEADBEAT HOLIDAY- somewhat amusing lryics, and a great chorus. Drums and production at another low. But still great. HOLD ON- good lryics, but bad drums keep this from beging spectacular Still great , but not as good as it could be. JACKASS- somewhat punk, more production problems, still good. Waiting- They played this on the mtv concert special. It sounded much better live then on the album, specially the drums. MINORITY- you heard it already. MACY'S DAY PARADE- very good song. A balad, and very peaceful.Tre sucks at druming on this album!, horrible sounded snare durms. Still the positive side is that, every song sounds different.
Free Music Review: One of the classic Green Day albums! Hit: 5 Stars
I been a Green Day since 1999 when I first started to listen to Green Day after my dad bought it and never picked it up again. I have every Green Day album to date and Warning is definatly an instant classic. This is a new sound for Green Day and most people really liked it. 1.Warning-This is a great start up for the album. It's about having no safety in the world. 2.Blood,Sex and Booze-This is one of the few rock songs on this album. This song will run through your head all day. Also great performed live! 3.Church On Sunday-This song is also a rock song. It's about Billie Joe and Addrienne's marriage. It's a sad song but it one of my favorites on the album. 4.Fashion Victim-About being a fashion victim in middle school and highschool. 5.Castaway-The song is about a loner out on his own. One of the most popular songs on the record. 6.Misery-This song is alot different from any other Green Day songs Tre'plays accordian, Mike plays the Farfisa, and Billie plays mandolin. It's about different people living in misery. This was written by the band. 7.Dead Beat Holiday- This is about celebrating a dead beat holiday. 8.Hold On- Billie Joe wrote this song for a friend who lost three loved ones in one year. 9.Jackass-This song about idiots and how irritating they are. 10.Waiting-This is about waiting a long time for something to come. This is Billie's favorite song on the record. 11.Minority-This song is the most popular song on the record. The whole song is great.12.Macy's Day Parade- About thinking about the things that you don't have. This song is an awesome closing to a GREAT Green Day record. If you don't have Warning get it TODAY you won't be sorry!
Free Music Review: A well-produced/developed cd Hit: 5 Stars
Back about a year or two ago I used to absolutely love Green Day, I would download every single one of there songs off of Napster live or studio or B-Sides. I would buy all the singles and all live and imports. Times changed and I changed my music to Guster,Dave Matthews Band(awesome),Phish, grateful dead, howie day, john mayer and basically jam bands that give it all up on stage. I soon growed to hate punk music, Ive sorta considered it talentless and annoying and I thought Green Day and Blink-182 [stank]. The other day i went out and found my ole Green Day cd's, this one caught my eye real quickly. I popped it in and i was amazing and how much Billie and the guys brought so much more to their sound, this album is their most artistic one out there. Everybody's got their experimental cd's but this one other then most cd's, doesn't [stink], Billie opens up his talented abilities by throwing in a Mandalin, Accordians, Acoustic guitars, keyboards. Such good tunes as Warning,Church On Sunday,Misery, Macy's Day Parade, Waiting, Monority, and Fashion Victim score, but Hold On and Castaway and Deadbeat Holiday tend to bore you after awhile. The extra Enchanced part of this cd is a dousie, There 30 minute video showing off the cd was made was great and added more to them, and showed what goes on in the recording studio. Overall this cd was extremely well-made, a new turn but for the best, and I hope Green Day continues this way( Which would make sense considering there hitting there 30's, and since punk is teenage trend, and once you hit late teens you realize you've wasted half your teenage life but im not here to start [stuff]with people and not to critize). Overall good cd for a long time favorite.
Free Music Review: Green Day stayed true, their fans are the sell-outs Hit: 5 Stars
First off I'm SICK of hearing Greenday "fans" scream 'sell-out' b/c ONE album isnt exactly what they like. Any true GD fan should be ashamed of criticizing a group that stayed true to themselves, even if they (GD) themselves changed. I am like most ppl in saying their first CDs were awesome, even Insomniac. WARNING is a terrific album both lyrically and musically, and is easily the most listenable of any Greenday CD. Anyone who says the 3-chord power songs didnt get at least a TINY bit old is lying. That's why Nimrod was such a success, b/c they made it more interesting, just as they have here. BS&B, Castaway, Jackass and Minority are all awesome songs, and good old GD. COS is good also as is Deadbeat Holiday and MDP. Waiting and the title track are both weak and annoying, and overall just garbage songs. The rest is nothing fantastic, but it's good solid music nonetheless. And GD still has the funny lyrics and good baselines that we love. I think we can all agree that the main reason why we love or loved Greenday is because they were original and because they were real. COS, MDP and even Hold On are relative to BJ's life, and are REAL. I think Fashion Victim might've been a token song for us, but the rest IS Greenday, pure and true. Billie Joe once again, like in the beginning of his career, went against the crowd and came out w/ HIS music. He knew he'd ruffle some feathers w/ Warning, just as he did w/ Dookie and the Lookout! Records CDs, but he stayed true to himself. This isnt a group trying to be something it's not , and for that, I applaud them. Buy and enjoy this CD because it's terrific music, not because you're a punk-junkie living in the past.
Free Music Review: Green Day's best work yet! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a dedicated Green Day fan since 1992 when Kerplunk came out. I've enjoyed watching them evolve over the years. I think they are doing a teriffic job!I am also glad to see that they are releasing material that they want to play. They released this album not giving a [hoot] if it would sell big, just like thier last 2 albums, Insomniac and Nimrod; both a step away from the multi-platinum selling Dookie. The new punkers now-a-days don't give Green Day the credit they deserve, since they have revived and shaped the new punk rock music they listen to today. They went back to thier roots with Insomniac (a great album). I remember seeing the 3 of them of MTV one day (MTV [is bad] these days), and Mike was saying (In reference to "Nimrod"): "We've been waiting our whole lives to make this music, so if nobody buys it... well, we got 3 guys right here who will buy it and listen to it." How can you not give this great band props with an attitude like that. The terrific ballad "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" seemed to free them even more as punk rockers, leaving the gate wide open for thier new release "Warning". This carefully constructed 12 track studio album is filled with infectious lyrics, and beautiful insturmentation. I love every track on this 12 song album. Some of the best tracks include: 01. Warning ** 02. Blood, Sex, And Booze ** 03. Church On Sunday 04. Fashion Victim 05. Castaway 06. Misery ** 07. Deadbeat Holiday 08. Hold On 09. Jackass 10. Waiting ** 11. Minority ** 12. Macy's Day Parade ** Thanks for reading. It's all about Green Day man!
