Free Music Notes for WarningFree Music Review: Green Day Is Still The Best! Hit: 5 Stars
This is an awesome cd. I love it. The tunes are very catchy and Billie still has that sexy voice. The lyrics are very profound and intense. They could stand on their own as "beautiful" poetry (beautiful is a dangerous word to use with a punk band). For those of you who are die hard Green Day fans-you better already have this cd. For you who are completely oblivious (how dare you) to this awesome trio, I recommend you listen to this cd first and then work your way back to the earlier days. For those of you who are punk fans, this is still a great cd even though it may sound "soft" at first. Pay attention to the lyrics-that's where the magic begins. When you get the cd, just listen to the songs WITHOUT looking at the words (it will be tough but you'll manage)-I guarantee you will be humming most if not all of the songs after one time through. Then, sing along with the tunes. You'll get 'em down in no time. Finally, just read the lyrics. As I said before, they could stand alone so give them the respect they deserve. Green Day has proven that they can still rock on. I have followed them for 7 years and I will continue to do so. The boys from Berkeley are back on top again. I give them three thumbs up, six stars, and a perfect 11!
Free Music Review: The Minority Rules! Hit: 5 Stars
Some people don't like this album because it sounds so different from the usual Green Day, but I love it! I think that this album only proves that Green Day isn't afraid to try new things, and they don't care if anyone likes it or not. Green Day has definitely matured here, but I can tell that some of their old humor is still here, only it's more subtle.
Many find the title track "Warning" to be weird, or they just don't like it, but I think it's kind of nice to see what Green Day can do when they put down the electric guitar and pick the acoustic. That's kind of what this album is all about. Blood, sex, and booze has a great beat to it, and castaway is very catchy. I found Misery to be surprisingly cool, seeing as it's more of a polka song than anything, but again this only shows how Green Day can put out any kind of music they want and rock at it. Deadbeat Holiday is very catchy, and I can never go with just listening to it once. But the real highlight of this album, I think, is Minority. It shows the band's attitude towards authority, and is the #1 catchiest song in the history of the world. You just HAVE to sing along with it. All of these songs are extremely catchy, and I think that anybody who likes good music should pick this up.
Free Music Review: Differant isn't always bad Hit: 5 Stars
Why is everyone saying Green Day wasn't recognized until Dookie?. I loved them because of Kerplunk and i still do, I'm surprised i haven't worn out the Kerplunk tape i listened to it so much and its still so great. Just because MTV didn't become obessed with them until Dookie means nothing. Also everyone has been saying the new album isn't punk and i was mad at first but i think they are right. It doesn't matter, i still like it but not the way i like Kerplunk. I don't see why they have to be punk to be good, it seems like some people are saying that just because it has a differant name it sucks. Anyways Green Day is still punk if these people were to talk to them they would know. They have a good life now, they are married and have kids and they don't need to sing about girls and school and drugs anymore. I really like the message behind warning. I think that its their best in that respect; its honest. If you are a Green Day fan I bet you will still like this, it's differant but it still is Green Day and it still is GREAT. If you aren't a fan yet and liked some of the songs, especially from Nimrod you will love this album. It is great to just sit back and listen to it. Oh, their LP for this album is cool too, its GREEN! Check that out too.
Free Music Review: Green Day Still Rock! Hit: 5 Stars
I am a huge Green Day fan and when I heard they had a new CD coming out I couldn't wait. I stared reading about it, and found that 'Warning' was suposed to be a slower album. After three years of waiting I was ready for something really rockin' But I still bought it even if it was just for the wicked first single 'Minority.' Right, it wasn't the usual Green Day, but it's awsome. All of the songs are great:Warning: All of the lyrics are suposivly from bumper stickers -7/10 Blood, Sex and Booze: Great guitar work, and one of the best on the CD - 10/10 Church On Sunday: Great lyrics and sound - 10/10 Fashion Victim: Another good rock song with great guitar work - 9/10 Castaway: One of the plainer tracks with some punk added - 7/10 Misery: Very weird. It sticks out from the rest and not your usual Green Day - 8/10 Deadbeat Holiday: Just a good song reminds me of 'Burnout' just a tad - 9/10 Hold On: A good deep song with acoustic added - 10/10 Jackass - Awsome punk rock! One of the best tracks - 10/10 Waiting - A slower deeper track, but with a lot of guitars - 9/10 Minority - Everyone's favorite. The best song on the CD! 10/10 Macy's Day Parade - A slow acoustic song that you can't help but like - 10/10 A must have!
Free Music Review: Green Day has done it again... Hit: 5 Stars
This album, just like all of Green Day's CDs, is just plain great. You can tell that the band members have matured in the past few years, quite a lot. They've lost that sound that made them the kings of punk six years ago, and now have a more upbeat, acoustic sound. Still, they've retained that same attitude, snotty and rebellious. All of the songs on here are great, gosh, it's hard to pick a favorite. I really like "Warning," which is about the want to live free, not caring about authority and what everyone else tells you to do. "Minority" is similair, only it is about wanting to be yourself and not giving a crap about what anybody else thinks. "Castaway" is another good track, exploring the feeling of separation and lonliness. The CD also features some notable love songs, such as "Church on Sunday" and "Waiting". But I'd say my absolute favorite on the entire album is the end track, "Macy's Day Parade," a slow, meaningful song; not quite like the memorable "Time of Your Life," but it still explores the journey that we all make through life. All that said and done, this CD is a great addition to Green Day's albums. Buy it. Listen to it. Laugh. Cry.
