Green On Red was the one band that had a lot of influence upon my listening with all that was being released during the indie/rail-pop type music. One band that I truly miss and wish I was able to afford all of their CD's, wish now that I never got read of my LPs.

Reissue of two classic albums on one specially-priced CD from L.A.-via-Arizona band Green On Red. The bands early history in the Paisley Underground movement is documented here on their self-titled 1982 debut. Gas Food & Lodging is their 1985 effort with addition of young Austin guitarist Chuck Prophet. Restless. 2003.When Green on Red, the self-titled CD in this two-title reissue, was released in 1982, the originally Arizona-based Green on Red were bracketed with Los Angeles' Paisley Underground clique, then spearheaded by Dream Syndicate, Rain Parade, and the Bangles. Green on Red were always a little wilder. Though cheaply produced, Green on Red is a singular debut. By the time Gas Food Lodging was recorded, Green on Red had added guitarist Chuck Prophet, whose virtuosity anchored tracks such as "That's What Dreams Were Made For" and "Hair of the Dog." Sonic and spiritual followers of Neil Young and Creedence Clearwater Revival, Green on Red made music that still sounds remarkably fresh. --Andrew Mueller
