I absolutely loved this CD. It captures all of the music from the series. The majority of the music is very serene and calming. Its a great mix of acoustical guitar, Celtic and traditional Chinese (flute) music. Listening to the CD takes me back to the shows.
Greg Edmonson did an excellent job composing the music. He really captured the essence of the show. I think it was a bad move on Joss Whedon's part to not go with Edmonson for the movie's soundtrack (Serenity). This CD is a must have for great music lovers, be it acoustic, classical or Celtic. This is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.
Free Music Review: Only thing that's missing is the "Hero of Canton"

I've been waiting for this CD to come out for a long time. Greg Edmondson deserves a lot of credit for being able to create pieces which are so moving, uplifting, heart-breaking, heart-pounding, and sometimes just plain lovely. I really wish he had been able to write the soundtrack for Serenity, but I'll take what I can get. This music is so amazing, you can hardly believe it was written for a TV show. It has character.
The only thing that I wish we could have on this CD is the "Hero of Canton" song, but they might not have a "clean" version available.
Man, I miss Firefly!
Free Music Review: Must Have Soundtrack With a Few Omissions

Anyone who loved Firefly should own this album. Not only can you show your support for the franchise, but you get to listen to the great work of Greg Edmonson whenever you like. About half of the tracks are memorable favorites that will immediately bring back vivid memories of the show and the remainder are still good now and then.
Like the movie soundtrack for Serenity, the only real down side is the absence of one or two small pieces. In this case, the absence of The Hero of Canton from the episode Jaynestown is something that must be made up with a download from the internet.
Free Music Review: Wonderful complement to Firefly series

If you are into soundtracks and the Firefly series, you will love this CD. The music complemented the series so well and really translated what was going on in the script. Good composition as well as execution. Just wonderful. Some of my favorites are River's Dance, the series theme (love the lyrics) and the Reavers music. I especially thought that the reavers music was similar to what I have reacted (what was going on in my head) when I felt in trouble or threatened. All I can say is thank you to Joss Whedon and Greg Edmondson and all that worked on this.Free Music Review: you can't take the sky from me

From one of the most amazing (and most underrated) science fiction television series, this soundtrack is of better quality than most motion picture soundtracks. While writing this, i'm having difficulty in separating my feelings for the music from my feelings for the show. I guess it is because without the amazing music, the series might not have been as good, and without the series, the music might not mean as much to me. While i'm trying to avoid sounding pedantic, i do believe that this music will mean much more to you if you first experience the series.
