Free Music Notes for IntrospectionFree Music Review: The Last, Best, Ultimate Musical Experience Hit: 5 Stars
I am a musician, and I've started with the guitar. I've gone through the Dire Straits --> Deep Purple --> Steve Morse --> Greg Howe --> John Scofield routine, and now I don't listen to guitar music anymore. I'm tired of the guitar. It's all the same. BUT, Greg Howe's Introspection is no guitar music. It's a musical Heaven. His guitar doesn't sound like any guitar playing you've heard in your life. It sings. He has the BEST feel around, he has the best musical ideas, and he is completely in a league of his own. He is amazing, he is brilliant, and he is a true master of an instrument you thought you've heard everything it could do - Until you hear this album. This, my friends, is the last, best guitar album. The ultimate musical experience.
Free Music Review: One of Greg Howe's best! Hit: 5 Stars
Like most of Greg Howe's albums, 'Introspection' again provides a glimpse into the "near impossible" of what is capable on a guitar. Greg's effortless virtuosity combines impeccable technique with uniquely tapped pentatonics, tasteful hyper-speed blues licks, and a wonderful sense of melody and rhythm. While most of the tunes on the album lean toward heavy blues laden fusion and straight "shred", Greg manages to mix things up a bit with a nice nylon-string piece dedicated to Jason Becker. Nevertheless, it is Greg's soaring lead playing that keeps you coming back for more. And you will want to listen a few times, if only to confirm that it was in fact a human that played so magnificently. A must-have for any fan of guitar music!
Free Music Review: incredible Hit: 5 Stars
if your into hi-tech licks with feel and phrasing this is the album to get.also dont forget about some cool riffs and melodies.right from the get go you will know its good.also his guitar tone sounds like wood and not processed.u can hear the amp breathe and his fingers change strings etc
a must have in the collection especially if you are a guitar player.can keep a medium to advanced guitar student in the woodshed for months or even years working this stuff out.lots of knowledge to get out of this album.
and to save alot of time try to get a hold of the official book released.not like most books out there where the fingerings are sketchy etc.this was authorized by howe himself.
Free Music Review: best jazz rock instrumental guitar cd... Hit: 5 Stars
like the guys who wrote review here,i am big fun of howe.i have got all the cd's,and i can say they are the best guitar teacher i had.every song of howe i learn to play is like ten years of standart progression.i dont feel that he is the best guitar player alive, but he is the one that does it to me.i listen to holdsworth, henderson, ron thal, kotzen, gamble and i cant feel the thrill i have when i listening to gregs work.i also feel that he is in diferent leage than vai and satriani.this album is must for every guitar player.my best in this album is track 1 and the amazing fusion of track 6.if you like to know how to play them, send me to my e-mail and i give you my hand made tabs for them.
Free Music Review: Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
This album displays Greg Howe's utter mastery of his chosen instrument. I wonder why guys like Steve Vai, Satriani, and Eric Johnson made it so much bigger than this guy when, in all hoesty, he is better than them all. Much better. He is unreal, in another league. Comparing Howe to Vai would be like comparing Michael Jordan to High School varsity. Buy this disc now. "Desiderata" is an accoustic number thrown in that will convert you to Howe.
