Free Music Review: the dandelion is a pretty weed

So I thought Nick went out and got himself a new band. He didn't. However, he did walk away from the Bad Seeds in name only, with a few members trailing behind him, and pick up an angst-ridden electric guitar instead of sitting down at a tame piano. The end product: leering, angry, hellbent, fuzzy, punk-tinged abandon. Wow. There isn't a bad song in this set. Even when he slows it down, Cave is still ranting. Maybe middle age won't be that fun. But he's got a thing or two to say about it, and you can't help but listen. Like much of his back catalog, he's funny, somber and ironic. But instead of tugging at your heart strings, he's much more content to kick you below the belt. And smile. At least it gets your attention and you'll hear one of the year's best albums as a result.Free Music Review: Return Of King Ink

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have been making quality music for some time now (excepting "The Boatman's Call"), perhaps exchanging some of the vitriolic intensity for more introspective arrangements. With the arrival of Grinderman, Cave and company have returned to their raw, vicious roots. I wouldn't go as far to say that this is the Birthday Party Mk. II, but anyone who has been tracking the career of this amazing showman will be more than pleasantly suprised. One could possibly compare this to the "Tender Prey" album if the band had the Stooges assisting with arrangements and channeling some lost garage band from the sixties. Also, this is Cave's first outing as a lead guitarist of sorts...very interesting style. Pure fun, indeed!Free Music Review: It's Still a Wild, Wild World

Although I truly believe "Go Tell the Women" and "Man in the Moon" should have been left out of the album since they don't seem to fit with the rest of the songs, I can't help loving this album. Grinderman is Mr.Cave and friends' way of saying "This is how it's done" to all those fake-punk-goth-whiners like Simple Plan, Panic at the Disco, etc. You gotta be gentle and smart as hell to get down and dirty like this. "Get it on", "No Pussy Blues", "Depth Charged Ethel", and "Love Bomb" are instant classics, while the bass line of "Electric Alice" will take you back to the wild, wild days of the Birthday Party. In fact, Tracy Pew comes back to life on that one. Long live Nick and his Cavemen!Free Music Review: now i know the real definition of PERFECT!

adjectives and cliches are useless to describe how brilliant, b r i l l i a n t this music is. i am begging you, pleading with you to wrap your ears around this masterpiece. heard a chicago music critic get all slurrpy and slippery about this as part of a 2007 top ten. i cannot get the smile off my forehead. had to sit down and rest with some oxygen before i go back for the headphones. JSNOW2 has every syllable correct in his review. "love bomb", "set me free", "depth charge ethel", "go tell the women", " get it on" are all stellar examples of what makes music magic. i don't care for NC and the only cave i hear is "man in the moon". grinderman is perfect!Free Music Review: A five star with attitude

Yes!A five star with attitude.At last, the music form that these four guys grew up and made us the ones we are know.Old like them and still looking for .The energy we need so we can put up with our miserable life.The best think is that there is no more piano. We all need sometime in our lifetime piano and "slow-moody" music but in the end the guitar is the savior. Thank you for the next big thing you just introduce to us. Rock music in general is evolving only when the newcomers can listen albums like "GRINDERMAN". Now the stakes are higher
