Free Music Notes for Grosse Pointe Blank: Music From The Film AlbumFree Music Review: Great songs for those of us who grew up in the '80s Hit: 3 Stars
While some movie soundtracks often contain music not actually shown in the film (i.e. Escape from L.A.), this one actually does. The mix of Johnny Nash's "I can see clearly now" and Guns N' Roses "Live & Let Die" does capture music from memorable moments from the movie. Pete Townshend's "Let My Love Open the Door" (E. Cola Mix) may be better release than the original version. However, this album is missing on a few songs. Nena's "99 Luftballons" would have a been a brilliant addition. And I could have lived without the Violent Femmes's "Blister 2000" (which I don't remember in the movie). Nevertheless, this soundtrack is worthy of purchase and since they couldn't get all the songs on to one album the record company decided on a second soundtrack which I cannot comment on since I don't own it...yet.
