Free Music Notes for Grosse Pointe Blank: Music From The FilmFree Music Review: a great mix of non-pop 80s Hit: 5 Stars
If you are tired of Bananarama on every 80s compilation out there and have heard Boy George just a bit too often, you might like this album a bit better. This is the 80s that actually shaped the rock of the 90s. It is not a quiet album. It has strong beats and strong lyrics that are from a decade, lest you forget, that produced punk. A great mix of songs. The song "Matador" had my buying Los Fabulos Cadillacs and it always gets me up and dancing, even if I am by myself. Okay, especially if I am by myself. I have heard that John Cusack helped put together the soundtrack. I have no idea if that is true or not, but if so...cute face AND good taste!
Free Music Review: Good movie and an excellent soundtrack. Hit: 5 Stars
Well, I must say; when I was in Tower Records making my decision on whether to buy the soundtrack to PCU or Grosse Pointe Blank, I was torn. After about 20 minutes I decided on GPB. I couldn't be happier. One of the greatest things about the film was its wide variety of music. My personal favorites are "Blister in the Sun", "Rudie Can't Fail", "Under Pressure", "I Can See Clearly Now"(which was a perfect choice for the opening credits), and " Let My Love Open the Door." The cd is a must-have. You will not be dissapointed!
Free Music Review: Hits Home if you're a product of the 80's! Hit: 5 Stars
I think you have to have graduated high school in the 80's to get the jokes in this movie - and if you are - they are non-stop. Great movie to watch a couple of times to get everything that is going on.
Cast and directed wonderfully. Dan Aykroyd is at his best. As good as Cusack is, this is one of his best. Minnie Driver made me a fan by playing her role JUST right. The cast and their work here - were fantastic!
Fun, fun, fun movie. Music, action, comedy, irony - superb. I've recommended it to many of my friends.
Free Music Review: Great soundtrack! Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite soundtracks. The songs are a nostalgic overview of 80's rock, with emphasis on ska ("Absolute Beginners," the Jam) and punk ("Rudy Can't Fail," "Armigideon Time," the Clash). There's also the swelling chords of "Under Pressure," a very nice collaboration of David Bowie and Queen, and Guns 'n' Roses' dramatic hard rock version of "Live and Let Die." Fun album that will probably bring back memories and definitely make you get up and dance!
Free Music Review: look 80's music was cool ok cooler than the 70's or 90's Hit: 5 Stars
Look folks the soundtrack is cool, my beef is with the amazon review of the movie, look every movie now where their is a hitman and a guy in a black suit now warrants comparison to Pulp Fiction which by the way was overbloated and overrated(how many flashbacks can we take??), cusack is more cerebral than tarrantino who fakes it and has a love with modern black culture which borders on the pathetic, long live cusack I hope he outlast tarantino but stupid folk will keep the latter around i'm afraid
