A friend of mine bought this album before I did and I knew after I had heard it once, I would have to buy it. Initially, I bought it because I am a pretty big Specials and Clash fan, but after listening to the whole thing, I was very impressed. It has a great combination of older stuff (Femmes, G n R's cover of live and Let die) along with some great cutting edge stuff. After listening to the soundtrack, the movie was not nearly as impressive as I had anticipated. Great album!Free Music Review: Great Soundtrack, Great CD

Someone did their homework! This disc (volume one of two) assembles a mix of music to rival the ever elusive Ferris Bueller soundtrack. Buy this CD, then explore the other work of the bands involved. Unfortunately some weak moments with Femmes versions, but strong enough elsewhere to pick up the slack and then some. A soundtrack really worth its salt. My daughter bought this album for her old dad and said it was what they put on at work to help them meet deadlines. It has become one of my all-time favorite cd's for driving. I have purchased it for all my music friends and relatives as a "must have". this is by far the best soundtrack i have - great mix of songs from great artists. definitely on my list of favorite albums i own. i'd even recommend you buy volume 2 of the movie soundtrack - some of the songs on that one are a bit obscure, but other than the remix of "blister in the sun" (which is on volume 1) i love every song!Free Music Review: Time warps you to 86

This is a fabulous anthemic volume - it reminds me so precisely of the year I graduated, 1986, just as the film does. It's a great counterpoint to the movie, as I believe it includes most or all of the same songs; not one of those ripoff sound tracks. At times, I've listened to this daily or even multiple times per day.
