Has the, er, pond, frozen over?! That was my thought when I was browsing a music store while waiting for my glasses to repair and spotted this album. This is music that I grew up on, associate with from puberty, and love baiting Stones fans with the question, "Didn't GNR take an excellent song, Sympathy for the Devil, and make it better?"
I recently learned that my hip big city cousin was invited to some Axl Rose event, but went to the Dominican Republic instead. Figures that a kid who idolizes Paris Hilton would do that, but we both bond over the amazing guitar riff and lyrics found in "Sweet Child of Mine" so despite our 11 year age span, we both are in full agreement that this album rocks, whether played from the original albums (of which I own most) on vinyl, cassette tape, compact disc, or MP3 format. Of course, cousin just says something like, "it's hot" while I say, "it's unbelievable!"
As for those whom I cannot convert, well, buy the album and make the educated choice yourself. Good music is good music, and as far as I'm concerned Axl Rose is just another name for William Bruce Rose, Jr. (if you use wikipedia as your source). I for one am thankful for this album arriving in my CD player and subsquently on my MP3 player.

This was the first album I ever bought of Guns N'Roses. GN'R is now my second favorite band. This is a great album, but why only 14 songs? This album is missing some great songs such as:
Nightrain
Mr. Brownstone
Mama Kin
Bad Obsession
Get in the Ring
Breakdown
So Fine
and where the hell is Estranged? that's one of my favorite songs. This is an ok album if it's your first GN'R album. But I suggest don't waste your money on this and just buy Appetite for Destruction first, Then the Use Your Illusions, Then Lies, Then Live, Then the Spaghetti Incident.

Wow!!! This is one of the greatest albums ever to come out in history by one of the greatest bands of all time, Guns N' Roses.
If you don't like it then you are an idiot. Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, and Pink Floyd suck. Listen.
PS. November Rain is one of the greatest songs in history!
