Free Music Review: Guster continues to evolve...

Guster's music has evolved once again with the release of their 5th studio album "Ganging Up on the Sun." While each of their albums takes a little getting used to (especially once you've grown accustomed and attached to the sound from their previous album), this album has grown on me after only 3 listens.
I've been a Guster fan for over ten years now - I bought their first album "Parachute" in 1995, back when you could only get it if you were lucky enough to know a Guster rep (in the early days, Guster sent 10-packs of CDs to Guster reps on good faith, expecting the rep to send back $100 after selling the CDs to friends for $10 a piece). Guster of course has come a long way since then, and have refined their sound every step of the way. When buying each new release, the most difficult thing is to detach yourself from the love of the previous album enough to appreciate the new sound. Once you do, you'll probably find that each new CD is better than the one before.
And "Ganging Up on the Sun" is no exception. This CD is brilliant. Once again, they've managed to reinvent their sound while still being unmistakenly recognizable. Most notable in this album are the lyrics, which are much more thought-provoking than in previous albums.
This album will not disappoint Guster fans.
