Free Music Review: A "Guys and Dolls" Soundtrack that didn't roll snake eyes

My high school did this musical this year, so I have a few things I can say about this sountrack. "Guys and Dolls", just the name says it all, and having Nathan Lane in the roll of Nathan Detroit was even better. This is the best cast recording of "Guys and Dolls" I've heard since Sinatra and Brando filled the rolls of Detroit and Masterson (Sinatra=Detroit, Brando=Masterson, if you didn't know) in the 1955 movie version of this play. What makes this version so good is that it has three of the best pieces, a fairly good version of "Runyonland", "Havanna" and "The Crapshooter's Dance". Neither "Havanna" of "Crapshooter's Dance" are on any other recording I've ever heard, which is just horrible since they are two of the best instrumental pieces. The 1992 recording of "Guys and Dolls" is the perfect edition to any soundtrack library. (And if you don't believe me, I'll just get Big Jule after ya....just kidding!)
