I have all the various cast albums for GYPSY and had to have this one because I am a fan of the show and Patti Lupone. The album is very good but still doesn't pack the wallop of the original with Ethel Merman or the cast album with Angela Lansbury. Nonetheless, GYPSY is a great show and anyone who loves the Broadway musical genre should have it in their collection.Free Music Review: great new version

cd is great especially if you have been lucky enough to see the show on broadway.Brings it all back and yu feel as if you are back in the theatre, also there are quite a few bonus tracks which were not in the show would definately ecommend if you like stage shows.Free Music Review: It's Patti! As expected, she blows you away with her voice! I actually enjoy Lupone as an actress. Her acting has far more depth than her voice carries. However, you can experience both in her version of "Rose's Turn". OMG!!!!Free Music Review: Nice

I prefered Bernadette Peters in the role on stage, but the recording of her 2003 revival didn't seem very well produced. I like this one much better. The performances are great, and also a little eccentric.Free Music Review: Lupone's Gypsy

We have have been waiting a long time for Patty Lupone to give us her interpretation of Mama Rose. She shines, she carries the show, but she does not overwhelm the rest of the cast. BRAVO
