I love movies....for a variety of reasons, sometimes for their throught-provoking abilities, innovation, story...and while "Hairspray" isn't one of those, I must say I haven't seen a movie that made me FEEL GOOD and energetic and just HAPPY in a very long time!! I loved the movie Hairspray, and I absolutely love the CD. I literally cannot stop grooving to the music. It is impossible to be unhappy when hearing these songs. If you want a pick-me-up, especially on a long commute, see the movie and buy the soundtrack. I am a Broadway fanatic, and I can't rave enough about the score. This is an EXTREMELY fun soundtrack! We just saw the movie tonight, and I was toe-tapping the whole time! I just about got out of my seat and danced in the aisles! I have never been so rocked by a soundtrack before! It was FUN. That is the best word to describe EVERYTHING in this movie. The music, the movie, the acting, everything! I have this CD and I LOVE it.The songs are very upbeat and catchy.I listen to the songs all the time now.There are very talented cast members including Zac Efron,Queen Latifia,and even John Travolta.There are even 3 songs that arent on the movie.If you want a good musical soundtrack you should deffinately get this one or if you are on the fence about buying this please do so.:-)
