Free Music Notes for Hairspray (Soundtrack to the Motion Picture)Free Music Review: Love it!!! Hit: 5 Stars
Welcome to the '60s! This soundtrack certainly does just that. The movie itself was just awesome, and I found it fitting that the director, Adam Shankman, said he made this movie in celebration of the music, as the songs explode with Broadway brilliance and fun. All the great tunes from the film are here, along with some others that didn't make it onscreen, but were added, most appropriately, to the recording. Fantastic singing by all the cast members, wonderful music arrangements, and great energy and exuberance that never fails to uplift me every time I hear it.
If you saw the movie and loved it, and/or just want to step back in time for some fun, then this album is a must. It's a feel-good pill for down-in-the-dumps days, one you'll want to take over and over again.
Free Music Review: New Hairspray as good as old Hairspray? Hit: 5 Stars
The songs are amazing. The pictures and colors are brilliant. You're thinking how can all these talented voices fit on one CD? From John Travolta to Queen Latifah, Zac Efron and Amanda Bynes, this CD has it all. New-comer Nikki Blonsky shines in such songs as "Good Morning Baltimore", "Without Love", and "You Can't Stop the Beat." Elijah Kelley's velvety voice is something any girl would die to hear, and his solo song "Run and Tell That" is something you'll want to play over and over. Zac Efron is not to be forgotten either. His lyrical voice makes girls swoon in songs like "It Takes Two" and "Ladies Choice." If your looking for a CD you can sing along to, this is the one. Its humorous and meaningful at the same time. I definately recommend it.
Free Music Review: I LOVE HAIRSPRAY!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of the best soundtracks that I have ever owned and I own quite a few. I also have the broadway soundtrack to this musical and it just doesn't compare to me with the movie soundtrack. You can't compare the two because they are both awesome, each in their own way.
I was sad that in this movie "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" wasn't included in the acutal movie but, I like the version on the soundtrack.
My favorite on this soundtrack would have to be "Ladies Choice," I love Zac Efron and I thought he was great in the part of Link.
This movie was absolutely amazing so, if you liked the movie get the soundtrack and always have a little pick me up in the middle of the day with the upbeat songs and great singers.
Free Music Review: wonderful Hit: 5 Stars
My daughters (age 5 and 11) went with me to see this and the next day we had to buy the soundtrack asap. We were trying to sing the songs from just seeing the movie just the once !
The songs are really catchy and the doo woops really take you back to the 50s and 60s.
I didn't saw the original version but was very pleased to see Ricki Lake in the movie and actually singing on this soundtrack. Gotta love the 'go Ricki, Go Ricki' at the end of the last track.
This is my families soundrack of Summer 2007 and we nearly know all the words already ! We are hoping the dvd will come out for Christmas.
Go see the movie and then go get the soundtrack. You will NOT be dissapointed at all.
Free Music Review: Fantastic Hit: 5 Stars
The cd is simply awesome ...the movie was great but someofthesongs were not fully shown there and fortunately can be enjoyed fully in the albuml ike It takes Two, which is a really good one sang by Zak Efron...the movie has showcased the talents ofthe near legendary Tarvolta, Michelle Pfeiffer,Walken and JamesMArden, Queen Latifah, and has introduced the public to the amazing talents of the brighter stars of tomorrow like Nikki Blonsky who is simply magical and the very appealing Zak Efron who has shown that he is surely much more than just a High School Musical star....boy he can really sing, dance and act...such an incredible and fun filled movie and the music is simply fantastic...its such a keeper..
