I rated this item a 2 for one simple reason: these singers can't even compare to the original broadway cast. Trust me if you really want to be awed by this fantastic musical, buy the broadway version. Free Music Review: A Great Movie Remake

I enjoyed the original John Waters film and am a huge fan of the Broadway Musical soundtrack. The movie remake of the Broadway show was done very well. Some people complained that it didn't follow the exact storyline but I thought it was fine. There was just enough change so that it stands on its own. The actors are all great. The only thing I was disappointed in was the rendition of "Ms. Baltimore Crabs" which needs to be big, bold, and ballsy, but on the soundtrack was very understated. But all together it's a great addition to my musical CD collection.Free Music Review: Zac "HOT PANTS" Efron

I just had to buy this sound track from the movie "Hairspray" 2007, which I saw 5 times at the theatre. My favorite song is "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now", sung by Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Nikki Blonsky, and this song prompted me to buy the sound track. Other favorite songs are "Good Morning Baltimore", "I Can Hear The Bells" and "The New Girl in Town". The entire CD is great. I'm happy to have bought it. Can't wait to buy the movie when it is released. Nikki Blonsky is so cute and has a wonderful voice. She's perfect to play Tracy Turnblad. I don't know where they found her, but she's absolutely perfect. She'll be a big star someday. She already is!
