i bought this cd knowing i would love it in the first place. but it definitely exceeded my own expectations. the songs are so inspiring and lively that i can't help but dance in my car! the only thing that i questioned was the cooties song towards the end bc i never remembeed hearing it when watching the movie. and it sounded too modern for the time setting of the plot. but either way, it was a fun song and i have nothing to complain over. i can't wait to buy the dvd! what a fun movie and soundtrack!Free Music Review: Awesome Soundtrack!

This soundtrack is one that is extremly well done!! I usually steer away from soundtracks because they don't capture the magic that is the movie, but after I saw this movie I decided to take a chance on this one! This is definitly one of the few of the soundtracks I have heard that is truly as good as the movie!
The tracks to hear are Welcome To The 60's, Big Blond and Beautiful, and Ladies Choice! Those songs have so much power and on different levels it it truly awesome!

This CD shows the best qualities of musicals, as this musical is one of the best of all times. It is amazing to hear John Travolta's changed voice and Christopher Walken sing happily. You feel and good and are up-lifted by the spectacular beats and rythms. You will want to listen to it again and again until you have learned all the words. If you like this, GO SEE THE MOVIE. It will blow you away; there is no wasted moment. If you liked the movie, buy this CD. You will not regret it.Free Music Review: Excellent!!!

Just like the movie, this is an EXCELLENT soundtrack - even before you see the movie! Queen Latifah, Zack Effron and newcomer Nikki Blonsky are fantastic! The always amazing John Travolta is great on the soundtrack as Edna Turnblad - just as great as onscreen! (Like we all needed one more reason to love Mr. Travolta anyway!!) And, it is very refreshing to hear talents like Michelle Pfieffer and Christopher Walken sing, too. I bought this cd really scared that it would not be anywhere near the Broadway Cd which is near and dear to my heart. But I ended up actually enjoying the show. Those songs from the show are mainly kept without much change from lyrics and verses. The 2 new songs are great and are sure to be great hits especially "Ladies Choice". So if you were afraid of not being good don't worry, its not the Original Broadway Cast but its still a great rendition of a great show!
