It is a live version over 6 mins long and is MY FAVORITE TRACK ironically. IT'S WORTHY BUYING IT AGAIN TO THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A COPY WITH THIS TRACK ON IT. ***MUST BE BOUGHT IN STORE ONLY. ONLINE PURCHASE JUST HAS 17 TRACKS.***
I grew up in the 80's when they were consistantly putting out hits. How thrilled I was to see them singing I'll Be Around on TV. I won't reshash what everyone else has been WELCOME BACK HALL & OATES!!!!

I'm so proud of the success of this album from Hall and Oates. That kinda makes want to go buy it now but I said I'll ASAP. What I like 'bout this CD is there so many classic soul remakes from the artists we loved and lost. Some of the songs I loved are on my top list of today: 1. I Get Around (It's been playing the smooth jazz radio 4 days in Atlanta) and 2. Love TKO.
This is a must-have if u love Hall and Oates 'specially Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs. I recommend this along w/ Michael McDonald's two-CD collection of "Motown 1 and 2". This is definitely a masterpiece! Big up to Hall and Oates for a good job on this album!

After listening to Our Kind of Soul, one can hear and feel the passion and adoration incorporated within these classic songs by two true students of the genre. Daryl Hall's voice is still powerful and filled with emotion after all of these years, especially on "I'll Be Around," Standing in the Shadows of Love," "Love TKO,", and "Can't Get Enough of Your Love." Of the originals, listen to "Soul Violins," which should be the next single, and "Don't Turn Your Back on Me," and you'll see that the songwriting craft that helped make them the most popular selling duo of all time, is still intact.Free Music Review: Another great step back in time!

It's so nice to see old favorites such as Daryl and John continuing to share their voices with us. I don't necessarily need to hear new songs. Instead, give me some new and exciting renditions of old ones...especially those from the 70's...and I'm hooked. That's exactly what this collection does! Daryl and John put their own spin on these songs, giving them revitalized life and helping their listener to uncover a flood of great memories. Look at the song list. When I first heard "I'll be around"I had to get this CD.Hall and Oates version of the Spinners classic is so different.I never knew how sad this breakup song was untill I heard John's version.I know NO ONE can touch Barry White's "Can't get enough of your love,"But this one sure comes close,and Aretha Franklin's,"Rock Steady" would be a great second single.The only soul classic I didn't care for was "Neither one of us."I guess I can't get Gladys Knight's beutifull song out of my head,but "Our Kind Of Soul" is YOUR kind of Soul.17 tracks of new and old Soul Classics.
