If you ar a Hank Fan, you need to get this, it is outstanding! The sound quality is far better than any other Hank Sr. recording, and Hank is superb.
I think it is also kind of funny what they say after the songs. Like when Hank sings Cool, Cool Water, like nobody has before or since. It is spine-tingling, outstanding, a masterpeice. And these guys don't know what to say, so they just start stammering "that's alot a' water." "Yup, thats alot a' water..."

If you can listen to Hank's version of the chestnut "Pictures From Life's Other Side," which was already an old oldie when he sang it here, and not be moved, then you must be dead. Hank proves here that, in addition to being a superior songwriter, the Shakespeare of American roots music, he also had exquisite taste in "cover" material. A genius, a master, who never even saw age 30, here he is in his very prime. This is an essential CD set. Period.Free Music Review: Hank' unreleased

This is excellent 'cause it has a lot of older songs that other people sang that really sound good with Hank singing them.
(Dust on the Bible, Searching for a Soldier's Grave, I can't tell my heart that) to name a few.
If you collect Hank's material this album is a must. Most of these songs don't exist anywhere else and them that do have different renditions some of which have extra verses, example: Pictures from Life's other side.

This is a great product. I bought it for my brother for Xmas, as he is a huge classic country music fan.The recordings are very well done especially on the vocal tracks, and these remastered 57 year old recordings sound really fine.I would strongly recommend this anthology to any classic country music or Hank Williams fan as being a "must have".

vibrant, immediate, totally amazing recordings...none of that scratchy radio sounding hiss....In fact the best Hank Williams recordings I have ever listened to....Hank Williams....you know you go up to the alter and sip the wine...this recording...is truly devine....I would pay ten times the asking price for this collection...
