Free Music Review: Harry for the Holidays
Hit: 2 Stars

I was very dissapointed in this CD. After seeing Harry on the Today show I was very excited to buy this CD, but what I heard on TV was the best the CD had to offer. The first few songs were great, very "new" arrangement of some classics, but after that Harry get's way too sappy.

Free Music Review: NOT MY CUP OF TEA
Hit: 2 Stars

Although I generally like Harry Connick's voice, I can't say I am won over on this CD. I just can't get into "jazzy" Christmas carols. I'd rather have an album sung traditionally.

Free Music Review: LISTEN TO AMAZON SAMPLE TRACKS
Hit: 1 Stars

Others have liked this one. I have not. The Amazon sample tracks may be your best indicator, as to whether you'll enjoy this CD. I found the arrangements ill-conceived, like having someone read from the Bible while playing Monk or Charlie Parker loudly in the background. The subdued jive gospel organ on Silent Night coupled with Connick's uninvolved singing can twist the stomach of large dogs and cause a spike in the holiday suicide rate. Connick shows no mercy on the track running it 4:52. I am not trying to be spiteful on this. It is just an album for very narrow tastes or super Harry fans (which I have been on some of his previous efforts).
Recently, I notice Amazon has tagged this album with [ENHANCED] [EXTRA TRACKS]. For me any extra tracks on this one would have to lead to the dumpster.

Free Music Review: Sorry, Harry!
Hit: 1 Stars

I am not a diehard Harry Connick Jr. fan, and this album is the perfect example of why I am not. I have several of his recordings, however. When Connick is on, I truly enjoy his music, but in this attempt at reviving the 1950's style he misses the mark. The arrangements are hackneyed. The stylings are uninspired. The least appealing cuts are Connick's originals. He is just not a song writer. I should have known better.

If you are a fan of the early fifties Christmas favorites, stick with the originals. Skip this one.

Free Music Review: Say it's Not Harry
Hit: 1 Stars

This album is a huge disappointment. If your expecting Harry Connick's usual music forget it. The arrangements are horrible and I did not listen to one selection all the way through. I gave the album away.....
This STINKS.

If you play this on a computer say thanks Sony for loading spyware on. Note the album (in little tiny print says will not play on some CD, DVDs, and this is an understatement.
