Free Music Notes for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Free Music Review: Excellent music
Hit: 5 Stars

This is an excellent movie score. I love it. I could listen over and over again.

Free Music Review: 2nd Best Soundtrack Out of the 5!
Hit: 4 Stars

The goblet of fire had the best music in my opinion, but OOTP has a couple that I like including- fireworks and room of requirment etc...
A solid buy for any HP fan.

Free Music Review: Pretty Good
Hit: 4 Stars

Coming after John Williams, few of the scorers for Harry Potter films will be able to live up to the wonderful scores that preceded them.

Nevertheless, Nicholas Hooper gives it a shot, providing a good companion piece to the film. However, despite some pretty catchy songs ("Fireworks" and "Flight of the Order of the Phoenix") this soundtrack proves to be a bit dissapointing when compared to Williams' music.

Hooper rarely, if ever, develops themes throughout the score. Instead, we are left with what seems to be a compilation of single tracks that have no bearing whatsoever on each other. Each song is pretty good, but I would have liked to see some development.

Also, Hedwig's theme is almost totally left out, with but subtle references is only two of the songs. MORE WILLIAMS PLEASE!

Four Stars...

Note to WB: PLease bring John Williams back for Deathly Hallows.

Free Music Review: Not much there
Hit: 2 Stars

I am simply not impressed with this soundtrack. There is nothing to it. Some tracks you could barely notice that there was even music. Sorry, if you enjoyed the music from earlier films, you will be a bit disappointed.

Free Music Review: The Chronological Order (of the Phoenix)
Hit: 4 Stars

Putting the songs in order is quite a simple process, and it immediately changed my opinion of the album (for the better). I highly recommend doing so. Soundtracks SHOULD be the emotional direction of the movie, and ignoring their chronological order limits the listener's connection to the actual movie. And as for the soundtrack itself, NO ONE is John Williams, and Pat Doyle and Nick Hooper don't try to be. I love JW, but I can also appreciate a unique spin now and then. Let us just hope that he scores the final film (as it would be fitting to see how he would finish the score he so famously started).

HOPE THIS HELPS...
