Free Music Notes for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban [Original Motion Picture Soundtrack]Free Music Review: 77th Annual Academy Awards Best Orginal Score Nominee Hit: 5 Stars
Out of the 5 nominees, this is the one that could really give Finding Neverland a run for its money. John Williams scored excellently for Harry Potter and the Philosopher/Sorcerer's Stone; dipped a little on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets but has come up with his best ever effort for the Harry Potter chain of movies in the score to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Everything good and memorable that John Williams first created from Stone is found here, in some form or another and that really sets the scene for everything else to happen. It's almost like how JK Rowling reminds us each time the book starts that it was summer and Harry's at his uncle's place waiting to come back to Hogwards. It readies us for what next to come.
The musical palate is so diverse here. Indeed, Double Trouble stands out so much because it pictures Hogwarts and the Marauder Map so well; you feel that you're part of the mischieve making. The piece evokes a sense of ancient-ness. Knight Bus is the odd one out of the entire score - but purposefully so. It fits the movie scene perfectly. As Steven Spielberg so aptly wrote in the CD booklet of the Artificial Intelligence CD booklet, John Williams truly is a master storyteller with his music. Listening to the score reminds you of everything from the movie.
If you loved the movie, then I'm pretty sure you would have already bought the soundtrack. If you like good scores, then get this CD too. The music is expressive, interesting, lively and just so good.
Free Music Review: Harry Potter 3 Hit: 5 Stars
Still haunting and mysterious just as the first two, this would have to be my most favorite out of the Harry Potter installments. Each track on this soundtrack gives you a clear idea of how the movie is like in your head, having the same theme of the last two movies, but making it more eerie and more amusing to listen to it. Having loud tracks, some tracks are beautiful; such as Track 6 and Track 15. I'm very happy that most of the tracks are over 2 minutes long, not having to change the track in like a minute and able to enjoy the melodic score. John Williams is an excellent composer. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Free Music Review: Darker but not depressing Hit: 5 Stars
This is the most interesting of the Harry Potter scores so far as far as I am concerned. It would not be as significant if I was not also a fan of the first two scores as well as the books and movies, but considering that what we have here is a seven part series that is still in the making, those of us curious where this narrative is going must be interested in all the signs. The scores progressively continue elements (Hedwig's theme) and add new ones. How Wagnerian! Again we can tell precisely where in the movie the music fits. I especially like the sudden change as the magic bus waits for the old lady crossing the street. The musical themes tell the story and Williams has a wonderful way of using the music to stimulate precisely the emotion necessary to accentuate the course of the narrative. This is all very interesting since cinema strikes me as the art form of our age. It uses all of the elements feasible to accomplish the catharsis so important to community. With Prisoner the score reflects the older score elements with new directions and the intrigue builds. Since the book offers so much more depth than the movie, the music is what keeps the movie from being just a pitiful reminder of the book. The music makes up for much that is missing in the movie by communicating the right emotion at the right time. I look forward to four more scores on these themes.
Free Music Review: I've never like any HP soundtrack, but this one is brilliant Hit: 5 Stars
At certain point I would rather say I was kindda disappointed for most of John Williams' recent works includling "the terminal"... again sorry Mr. Williams, you are one of the best composers I know of in this life time. But anyway this one totally blew me away up 7000 ft in skyhigh! The most obvious thing is I did like this 3rd movie a lot more than the first 2, but I didnt notice I like the sound at any rate until I watched every parts in the 2nd disc's documentary stuffs.. the one that actaully force me to buy this CD is "A window to the past", quite flanky I dun even notice its in which part in teh movie.. ^^ , but then it's so beautiful like a sound belong to an antiquity's small village, and I also watched the MTV on the 2 disc with the song "DOuble Trouble", these 2 alone are enough for me to buy the Soundtrack, the following are the tracks I highly recommend to listen to if u choose to skip the rest while playing:
***
lumos:
aunt marge's waltz
apparition on the train
Double trouble
buckbeak's filght
a window to the past
the patronus light
werewolf scene
dementors converge
***
The rest are good as well, but these meant special to me, especially "patronus light", quite immidiately I think it create an instant art piece in my head. BUY it folks, it works like magic.
Free Music Review: New Movie, New Director, New Music Hit: 5 Stars
The long awaited third film of the Harry Potter series just came out. The music to this album has a much different feel from the previous two albums. This album features a jazz piece, Medieval sounding pieces, and a choir. In this album John leaves the fimiliar sound of the the first 2 albums behind and creates a whol new theme to the album. The most newest sound for the Harry Potter movies was the Knight Bus, a jazzy piece. Double Trouble has a choir singing and this motif can be heard throughout the soundtrack and movie numerous times. But the real ringer of this CD is Buckbeak's Flight. It's such a great track with the start of the drums, to the strings, and then the big ending this is a great track. There are some songs that sound like they're from the first 2 albums. They are the The Whomping Willow and the Snowball Fight, Quidditch, Third Year, The Werewolf Scene. A Window To The Past is a real great slow piece and is heard throughout the movie. The Whomping Willow and the Snowball Fight one of my favorites on the album. The Whomping Willow sounds like Quidditch music to me and the Snowball Fight sounds like Christmas at Hogwarts. Mischief Managed is also a good track. It starts off with Ninbus 2000, then goes to Hedwig's Theme, and then to Double Trouble. It also plays some other songs off the soundtrack. Overall this is a great album.
