Free Music Review: Williams is the Master!
Hit: 5 Stars

John Williams has proven once more that he is the premier score writer. While retaining some of the old themes from the the two previous Harry Potter films, Williams weaves a new, and somewhat darker, score as compared to the light scores of "Sorcerer's Stone" and "Chamber of Secrets." What really sets this soundtrack apart is Williams medieval tone, set through the children's chorus "Double Trouble." Some of the best selections are coupled with the more personal moments in the movie: "Window to the Past" and "Finale" which couple with Harry's conversations with Lupin and Sirius, respectively. Without a doubt, this soundtrack is the best Harry Potter soundtrack. Can't wait for the next one!

Free Music Review: Captivating!
Hit: 5 Stars

When I bought this soundtrack, I was already thinking it would be just another bland cd filled with orchestra music. How wrong was I? Well, I listened to this cd about four times the first day I bought it. I absolutely love it, and now I can't stop listening to it! Track no.1, "Lumos", gets you in the Harry Potter mood, as it is a staple sound in the HP movies. "Aunt Marge's Waltz" is breezy, bouncy, and you can just picture mean Aunt Marge flying out the doorway! "Knight Bus" -- riveting... the list goes on and on! However, my favorites would be "Buckbeak's Flight" and "Quidditch Third Year". This soundtrack mixes dark, creepy melodies with light, airy tones. It is sure to please even the pickiest purveyer of music.

Free Music Review: The Best to date!
Hit: 5 Stars

Simply put, Williams best score in while; moody, evocative and humorous in just the right mix. Now don't misunderstand me, I like John Williams, with the exception of the Star Wars scores, I get nearly every CD released by him, but over the years I've been finding his work repetative (as a composer, if you can't borrow from yourself, who can you?) This score was a wonderful surprise, it seemed really fresh and inspired. Along with the new director to the series, there seems to have been a new life injected into Williams' sense of drama and playfulness; I can't get enough. I like the use of the period instruments as a counterpoint to the modern orchestra as well.
Can't wait for the next installment.

Free Music Review: Musically and Emotionally Inspired!
Hit: 5 Stars

John Williams has definitely struck gold with his score for "Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban"... Through many varied styles of music, he sets the stage for the third installment of the Harry Potter film series. In "The Knight Bus", he uses a delirious, upbeat '50s jazz piece to set up the jaunty ride aboard a triple decker bus... In "Window To The Past", he creates an very nostalgic, sad setting as Harry begins to learn even more about his troubled past. It would be easy for one to go on and on, but simply put, this soundtrack is definitely one of the most varied and well thought out...period. I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys not just Harry Potter series, but music of any kind!

Free Music Review: THE best of the Harry Potter scores....
Hit: 5 Stars

Not only is the Prisoner of Azkaban probably the best of the films thus far but so is the score. Ever since I first heard 'Buckbeak's Flight', I was in love with this score.
Mr. Williams let loose his wisdom, talent and magic into this score and didn't stop. Every theme and almost every track in this album is just amazing! Even the zany, chaotic " Knight Bus" piece is entertaining to listen to! The best part of this score is the midieval blood in it. The whole score is centered around the midieval-style music, taaking you into the world of Harry Potter. This is definitely a must-have for Harry Potter fans and for anyone else who enjoys a good film score.
