Free Music Review: Personal Top 10 CD

This is one of those rare albums for me which doesn't have a single track that I skip over. If you like great rock music with intelligent, interesting lyrics that make you think and smile, give this CD a listen. One example is "Diminishing Returns" with lyrics such as: "Farewell to the days of having it both ways / Hell is other people and some people never learn." Harvey Danger deserve much more attention than they've gotten since "Flagpole Sitta". Their lyrical style reminds me of other underappreciated artists like "The Tragically Hip" although I like Harvey Danger even more due to Sean's smooth voice. I think this album shows a more mature sound than their earlier efforts, which are great albums also. Here's hoping they continue to play and record wonderful albums like this one.
Little by Little... Poster
The third LP by Seattle band Harvey Danger is the sound of a radically transformed group. In place of their distorted alt/garage rock is a mellower, less caustic, more melodically adventurous sound, reveling in a classic pop sensibility that owes everything to the band members' evolving musical interests. The biggest change is the dominance of piano throughout, given pianist/guitarist Jeff Lin's classical training on the instrument. Other songs provide reminders that the band can still make with the catchy indie rock as well as traverse less easily classified musical terrain.Alternative Rock Music CDs
