Free Music Review: Hed is back

I havent been this excited about a hed album since the self-titled. Now that they are on an independent label they let loose and redefine their g-punk style. I love this album! While the self-titled introduced us to their unique g-punk and Broke added more rock and less hip hop, their last album Blackout was my least favorite because it didnt sound like the hed i grew up to. O.I.A is here to show us that with a couple of subtractions and additions to their lineup, hed is back and badder and more raw than ever before.
Standouts include the soon to be hit single "Represent" which was chosen by the fans to be the first single. Right away you are aware that they curse alot more and really dont care what people think. This album was for themselves and for their true fans. With days of recent where alot of bands come out with awesome, raw debut albums with alot of potential only to succumb to their record label. Other new great additions to the hed catalog include the heavily sexually-referenced "CBC", "War" with awesome guitar riffs, "Raise Hell" with an awesome chorus and a solid song all the way throug. "Raise Hell" is probably my favorite song on the whole album and one of my favorite all-time hed songs. Other good songs are "Chicken", "Amerikan Beauty", and "Daydreams". Hed is back with a more mature album in the sense that they grew up and realized in order to make their type of music they need to be on an independent record label, free to say and do whatever they want to do in true punk fashion.
