I researched for a while and compare the options. I couldn't give up most of the songs in this CD, bought it, and love it! It sounds great and it contains most of the best. Even ones that I forgot he plays. Some of the last ones on the list were not as great but from a list of 20 I got the ones I love. Until they sell a box package with the Bull thing in stereo to please everyone, this is it.Free Music Review: Great Compilation...!!

It takes "guts" to name ANY artist's album "Definitive". Perhaps this album is not truly definitive of Herb Alpert, but it certainly could
be renamed "Greatest Hits" or "Enjoy Herb Alpert's Hits". I very much enjoy this collection, and have added it among my eclectic collection of rock and pop music. This is happy, whistle along music that will lift your day and bring back memories.

This had all my Herb Alpert favorites plus additional songs I'd never heard before. I really love this album. The first 13 songs are with the Tijuana Brass and are, in my opinion, the best on the album. The remaining 7 songs are okay, but not quite as good. Then again, I am a fan of the Tijuana Brass sound. This cd is just what you need if you like Herb Alpert's music! It has the hits from the Tijuana Brass era, the hits of the 70's and 80's, and what I liked most, the commentaries in each song, so that you will know the "history" behind each one. One of the great instrumental albums of all time. Led by Herb Alpert. A truly gifted, trumpet playing, musical genius. He wa ahead of his time in the early 60's. His music spans five decades, and it all plays unbelievably modern today.
