Free Music Review: Sixx and Co. Rock
Hit: 5 Stars

I was kinda skeptical about music by Nikki Sixx and 2 other musicians i had never heard of but this cd is amazing.
It is very well written concept album that rivals Operation Mindcrime, (Mindcrime is one of my alltime fav cd's )
Don't expect any Girls Girls Girls sort of tunes.
This music is exceptionally well written and performed.
Great vocalist in James Michael, the guitarist, DJ Ashba does an incredible job of writing music to match the tone and mood of the lyrics.
All the way around an excellant cd that i listen to all the time (out of a collection of about 600 cd's)...
One of the themes throughout is "how the hell am i still alive?", Sixx went through an incredible personal hell and has produced an incredible cd capturing the decline and hell of a heroin addict trying to kick the habit and stay alive.
I highly recommend it if you like well written, rockin, well thought out, and emotion producing music ...

Free Music Review: The Amazon reviewer missed the point completely
Hit: 5 Stars

The Heroin Diaries is what's missing from modern rock music. James' voice, DJ Ashaba's guitar and Nikki's lyrics & bass really make this album come to life. In ways it reminds me of Pink Floyd's The Wall. The opener, X-Mas in Hell is really strong, as is Life is Beautiful. The whole album is very ambitious and progressive. I wish more bands today had this kind of sound.

The Amazon.com review criticizes the album for not sounding like Motley Crue. That's because...guess what..this band is not Motley Crue. And anyway I wonder how the reviewer would have gone about making hard-hitting anthemic rock songs for an album called "The Heroin Diaries." Imagine these kind of lyrics put to the music of "Kickstart my Heart" or something. It wouldn't work. For an album about heroin addiction, you need a sound like this or else the message is lost. You've clearly missed the point, sir.

Overall, a wonderful album with a great sound. 5 Stars.

Free Music Review: Don't listen to it expecting Motley Crue...expect Nikki Sixx
Hit: 5 Stars

I have heard this album several times now, and I must admit the first time I hated it. It sounded jumbled, didn't really flow to me. Then, the more I thought about it, what heroin junkie's mind really flows and makes sense? So, I listened to it instead of hearing it, and got into the vocals and followed the story. Methinks some people bought this album and were expecting Motley Crue, a bunch of "Shout at the Devil" stuff and were disappointed. I bought it expecting that, and I was a little bit p***ed off. It's not an angry album. You'll hear songs like "Accidents Can Happen" and you're like "What the heck is this??". Listening to it in its entirety, though, and you understand what he's trying to accomplish in the album.

I can tell you that if you want Motley Crue, look elsewhere. If you want to hear a different side of Nikki Sixx's musical abilities and lyric writing, this is the perfect album for it.

Free Music Review: Best Album Ever, A Must Have
Hit: 5 Stars

Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and James Michael have created an album that is absolutely one of the best albums ever released in history. It is heartfelt, sincere and full of emotion. Every song on this CD brings complete emotions. Anyone who has ever been affected by addiction can truly relate to this CD whether they are an addict, recovering addict, family member or friend of, co-worker of.

Nikki has accomplished so many great things. As a song writer he is absolutely spectacular. His lyrics whether with Motley Crue, Brides of Destruction,58 or other projects have always been able to reach deep within you and pull out raw emotions, but this time he has outdone himself. You can feel raw emotions within yourself as well as his emotions in the lyrics and music. James' strong vocals and Nikki's words throughout the songs have only helped to strengthen these raw emotions.

This is a must have for all.
