Free Music Review: A Really Good Soundtrack
Hit: 5 Stars

Disney hasn't really created a lot of movies I absolutely love but this one is an exception. It's fantastic! I'll give you a quick run down of all the songs (BTW, I don't just give songs a perfect score because I really like them. Unless it's the best song in the world, I don't give out 10's. So if I don't give a 10, it doesn't mean the song was really good.)

Start Of Something New: The opening song. A good catchy tune that I just think is awesome. It goes from nice slow ballad to mid-uptempo.- 9.5/10

Get'cha Head In The Game: It's really a different type of song. A good Basket-ball song, better than anything from Like Mike. 7.5/10

What I've Been Looking For: Ahh, the Lucas and Ashley version. I thought it was a really good uptune pop song. It can become slightly anoying. 7.5/10

What I've Been Looking For (Reprise): I like this version better than the other one. A nice slow piano ballad. 8.5/10

Stick To The Status Quo: I like this song but I don't really like the talking interludes. Just get rid of the talking...and it would get a better mark...argh! 6.5/10

When There Was Me And You: Ahh Vanessa's solo song. I think she does a really nice job with this. 8.5/10

Bop To The Top: A latin styled song. It brings a nice touch to it but not a favourite. 7.5/10.

Breaking Free: My favourite song on the soundtrack. A very orignal song that I just adore. 9.5/10.

We're All In This Together: A nice ensemble cast song. It reminds me of We Go Together from Grease. 8.5/10

I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You: A bonus track. Not a favourite. It could have been better. 6.5/10

Get'cha Head In The Game: I like the other version better but B5 has their own way or doing things. 7/10.

Start Of Something New (Karaoke Instrumental): I think it's a great instrumental. Good way to belt out the tune. 9/10

Breaking Free (Karaoke Instrumental): A great way to end the CD with an Instrumental of my favourite song. 9/10

Total Score: 105/130 - 81% = A-

Free Music Review: Almost as Much Fun as Watching the Movie
Hit: 5 Stars

It started as a Disney Channel Original Movie. However, "High School Musical" was an instant hit and has become a phenomenon.

I finally gave in a couple weeks ago and watched the movie. I immediately discovered what all the hype is about. It may be cheesy, but it is lots of fun. I just had to get this soundtrack CD.

This is not a musical in the traditional Broadway sense of the term. Since this was made by Disney, it is teen pop, something that has worked well for the company for several years now. This will limit the appeal to adults, but it explains the love of teens.

Personally, I find it highly addictive and a little embarrassing. I find myself with these songs stuck in my head when I'm not listening to it. When I am listening, I can't help but tap and groove to the beat, which can be just as embarrassing.

While the majority of the songs are teen pop, they do incorporate other styles into the mix. "Get'cha Head in the Game" is a hip hop song complete with basketballs bouncing and shoes squeaking to the beat. "Bop to the Top" has a catchy Salsa rhythm and "What I've Been Looking For" has a 70's feel to it.

"Stick to the Status Quo" is their nod to the traditional Broadway big cast song. It still gets a pop feel and is a great cross between the two styles. This funny song includes the spoken dialog from the movie as some of the students share their secret desires that are not appropriate for their click.

My favorite song on the CD is "When There was Me and You." Vanessa Anne Hudgens truly shines in this ballad singing about the hurt she feels when another character turns his back on her.

And that does bring up a great thing. All the vocal work here is top notch. Even with the wide range of styles covered, the actors cover it all without missing a beat.

Naturally, this CD will most appeal to fans of the musical. It captures the fun of the movie when you can't watch it and is the perfect way to learn all the words so you can sing along next time you watch it.

Free Music Review: Don't let others rule your destiny! (...)
Hit: 5 Stars

Ever enjoy doing something so much that you brought your inner passion out of the dark and tried something totally new but your friends diss you and hate your passion? "High School Musical", the movie, is truly popular to the pre-teens and up. In my opinion kids younger then 9 can in joy this movie also but not truly understand it as much as older people. This movie can have you laughing at one moment and on the verge of tears the next. Gabriella, a shy new student, met her inner passion through a guy named Troy. Troy loves basketball and is a very competitive person. He also is a great singer. This movie takes place at Eastwood High School. In the beginning of the incredible movie, Troy and Gabriella meet unexpectedly and fall in love. Sharpay, a know-it-all, is jealous of them being together and tries to break up their relationship. Troy's basketball teammates and Gabriella's Scholastic Decathlon team also wants them to breakup, but for an entirely different reason. Troy and Gabriella tryout for the fall musical at their school. Then surprisingly they make the callbacks. Troy practices for his basketball tournament and practices for the callbacks while Gabriella practices her Scholastic Decathlon skills and practices for the callbacks. Sharpay and her brother Chad, reschedule the callbacks so that all of Gabriella and Troy's events are scheduled for the same time. Can Troy make the championship and can Gabriella make the Scholastic Decathlon tournament and at the same time both of them make the callbacks? You have to watch the movie to find out.
I personally love the songs in this movie. There's hip-hop, showbiz and lots more. I love the choreography of the song "Gotcha Put Your Head In The Game". The teamwork in this song is just outstanding. They all had tremendous effort. I give this movie 5 star for their friendship, love, effort, companionship and it's funny to. Buy it, rent it, borrow it, do whatever you have to, to get your very own copy of "High School Musical", the movie today!!!

Free Music Review: Best CD Ever!
Hit: 5 Stars

1. Troy and Gabriella - Start of Something New (5/5) This song is amazing. They can sing great and the music just highlights their beautiful voices amazingly.

2. Troy - Get'cha Head In The Game (3/5) Eh, it was okay. I'm not much of a fan of rap. But it was pretty good.

3. Ryan and Sharpay - What I've Been Looking For (5/5) This was the best song on the entire CD! The song is too amazing for words!

4. Troy and Gabriella - What I've Been Looking For Reprise (4/5) I like it, but I liked it better when it was faster like with Ryan and Sharpay's version.

5. Cast - Stick To The Status Quo (5/5) Excellent song! I especially liked Sharpay's part in the song.

6. Gabriella - When There Was Me And You (5/5) This girl can sing! She is probably the second best singer on this CD (after Ashley Tisdale, Sharpay).

7. Ryan and Sharpay - Bop To The Top (5/5) Ai, ai, ai! This song was awesome! I loved the fact that a part of it was in Spanish. This duo of Lucas Gabreel and Ashley Tisdale can sing!

8. Troy and Gabriella - Breaking Free (5/5) This was an amazing song! Nothing else to say!

9. Cast - We're All In This Together (5/5) I correct myself on my comment from track three (What I've Been Looking For). THIS is the best song on the CD! I love how the entire cast (including extras) come together to make the perfect song!

10. Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, and Sharpay - I Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You (5/5) The song is amazing. I wish it were in the film! Lucas Gabreel (Ryan) did spectacular in this song!

11. B5 - Get'cha Head In The Game (4/5) This one was a little better than the first. But it wasn't perfect. But B5 is an amazing group.

12. Start Of Something New Karaoke (4/5) I liked it instrumental, but there were parts of it where it needed vocals.

13. Breaking Free Karaoke (5/5) This was amazing instrumental!

Free Music Review: Kudos, Disney
Hit: 5 Stars

Many people refuse to even take a glance at this movie and soundtrack because they hear that it's a cheesy musical. It's a shame that they are missing out on something great just because they may think that it's cool to ignore it. In some cases, they just hands down don't like it, but i can guarantee you that most people just won't give it a chance or are too embarrassed to admit it. But they're entitled to their own opinions, so I'll leave it be.

I am entitled to my own as well, and I'm here to say that this movie and soundtrack are very impressive. The cliche moral of the movie (to break free from what you're used to & to follow your dreams) seemed to somehow be a novel concept because it was taught with songs and music, but maybe it was just me. Kids can really relate to this movie and the humor in the movie was not that of regular Disney movies. It was actually funny in a way that didn't involve pratfalls or forced laughter. Old Disney movies were great, but they started to get pretty bad. I'm a sucker for musicals, so I watched this movie. I'm proud to say that High School Musical gave me hope for a better future in Disney Movies.

This soundtrack will bring cheer and a sense of comfort to most people who listen to it. The young voices of Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Lucas Grabeel are fantastic and compliment each other very well. The songs that were written are more than appropriate for the movie and the catchy beats make you want to listen to them again and again.

I felt the need to write this review because people seem to be so harsh on everything Disney related. Before you get all offensive, just remember that we are all entitled to our own opinion and I chose to acknowledge some of your harsh ones, but still accepted them. This soundtrack is very good, and I highly recommend it.
