Free Music Notes for Mozart: Violin Sonatas K. 301, 304, 376 & 526Free Music Review: Mozart: Violin Sonatas K. 301, 304, 376 & 526 Hit: 5 Stars
Mozart: Violin Sonatas K. 301, 304, 376 & 526~ Hilary Hahn is a splendid recoding of some of Mozarts Violin Sonatas. Ms Hahn is a very beautifull and accomplished violinist that certainly plays with such skill and prowess that is worthy of Mozart and his stupendous compositions. Ms Zhu is no second fiddle here and her piano playing skill is amazing in its own right. Anyone whom has read my prior reviews knows that I love Mozart and rank him alongst with Bach, Wagner and Beethoven as the best composers ever. Mozarts music speaks directly to ones soul and ones inner senses that few composers are able to do. The book-let is a great piece of work and the beautifull photos of a serene and pensive looking Ms Hahn are so beautifull and the foreword is very well written indeed. I highly recommend this album to lovers of Mozart and to lovers of great music in general. This astounding album will not disapoint in any way, 5 out of 5 stars.
Free Music Review: I LOVE this recording. Hit: 5 Stars
Just got it today and have only listened to it twice, but I think this one is going to get listened to a lot.
I was wondering why it seemed so enchanting to me. I have heard each of them 3 or 4 times when they were at Curtis together and once in a mini concert together back then. It finally struck me that in addition to fine musicianship, an interpretation that suits my prejudices and all the other fine things the other reviewers said... they play so wonderfully together. I had never realized how much that could add, but doing the dance of the music together the way they do on this recording adds a magical quality.
I hope Natalie Zhu records some solo things. If she does, I'm a buyer.
Free Music Review: Bravo Hilary & Natalie !!! Brilliant Mozart Hit: 5 Stars
I had very high expectations for this album, as I do for all of Ms. Hahn's recordings. As always, my expectations were met, and in this album I was pleasantly surprised with even more! Anyone familiar with Ms. Hahn's playing knows she has amazing intonation, vibrato to die for, clear-warm-brilliant tone, and clarity and precision like none other. This album lacks none of these techniques, and in addition contains energy and spirit of good Mozart. Her well thought out phrasing shows she never stops maturing as a musician and I must emphasize this album does not lack musicality. The years of collaboration between Ms. Hahn and Ms. Zhu show on this album. A must for any Hilary fan!
Free Music Review: Great music and play in excellent recording Hit: 5 Stars
This CD has been my favorite since I had it 2 years ago. I bought a few to give out as gifts to my friends. Hahn's performance is superb in this CD and Zhu deserves high praise for her impeccable play that balances with Hahn's. The duo play in styles and quality that I see a great fit with Mozart's.
The sound quality of this CD is so good that a mediocre bookshelf system could please your ears. It's not a well-known piece among Mozart's many popular works, but surely the CD should bring lasting joy and enjoyment to any people who like classic music, no matter their years of listening.
Free Music Review: A Beautiful Recording! Hit: 5 Stars
I grade my CD's based on how often I play them. I have not removed this recording from my CD player since I bought it. It just keeps becoming more enjoyable. Because of that, I rate this CD 5 stars and well worth it! This one has got to be one of Hilary's best. Power, brilliance and grace mark this entire recording. I have had the privilege of seeing Hilary and Natalie perform this music together so the CD also brings to life the memory of the flawless performances by these two on stage.
Highly Recommended.
