Free Music Review: Hilary Hahn reveals another side of Paganini
Hit: 5 Stars

Another amazing CD from Hilary Hahn.

The Paganini concerto has always been considered the most difficult concerto ever written for the violin. Hilary Hahn, in case you don't know her, has always been famous for her flawless techniques and effortless playing. I truly don't understand why someone could possibly say Hahn hesitated when playing the Paganini concerto. Keep in mind when you listen to the CD that Hilary Hahn is not playing it the same way hundreds of other violinists have done. Like she said, she's trying to spark out the operatic qualities, above all the technical challenges. And I think she has succeeded undoubtedly.

A definite recommendation to all those who are looking for something different in the classical music world.

Free Music Review: The best Paganini concerto no. 1 that I have listen to so far.
Hit: 5 Stars

This is by far the best Paganini Concerto #1 that I have listened to. I did not write the review before I could listen to quite a few performances of the same, including the excessively praised Accardo. I must indicate that Hilary Hahn is truly the best. Her virtuoso is combined perfectly with a sense of emotion that comes out delicately giving Paganini's concerto no. 1 the meaning and interpretation it deserves. The latter is especially reflected in the third movement. Not just only a collection of technically challenging combination of notes but a whole composition that is a pleasure to the ear, revealing perfection. So, although I am not a "pro" I give this performance 5 stars without reservation.

Free Music Review: Her best yet
Hit: 5 Stars

Hilary Hahn is an amazing young violinist, and she keeps getting better with each passing year. I love this album, and can't stop playing it. To me, that's the sign of a great album. Many times I'll buy one because I like the artist, and then play it a couple of times and put it away because it wasn't as good as I expected. This is one of those rare albums that exceeds my expectations. I am certain it will be one of a select group that gets played on a regular basis.

Free Music Review: Hillary Hahn is an amazing artist.
Hit: 5 Stars

She is one of the great young artists that consistently creates recordings with great musical depth. I was surprised by her concerto choices on this cd but she is an individual and artist inspired by both history and music and delivers an understanding of works far beyond most. I find her remarkable and this recording yet another fine addition to her others. I look forward to her career and the release of additional recordings.

Free Music Review: Hilary Hahn Rocks!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a Hilary Hahn fan for about five years now. I own all of her CD's, but Paganini and Spohr is by far her greatest work to date. I am particularly addicted to the first and third tracks (especially the third). If you have never given Ms. Hahn a listen, I strongly suggest you try this album. I loved it so much that I purchased copies for family members for Christmas.
