Free Music Review: Great Album

I got into H.I.M. through the tracks on the CKY movies and I'm glad I started listening to them even though they can get kinda depressing at some points. This album is really good and is a great follow up to Greastest Love Songs 666, Razorblade Romance, and Deep Shadows and Bright Highlights. Razorblade Romance is my favorite album by H.I.M. but this might be my second favorite. Beyond Redemption, Endless Dark, Soul on Fire, and Funeral of Hearts are my favorite tracks on this disc. If you've never heard H.I.M. they are nothing like most mainstream American music and its a refreshing addition to your music collection.

I know a lot of H.I.M. fans who don't like Deep Shadows and Bright Highlights for some reason or another and if you are one of them, then this album might be good "redemption" for you and if you just generally love the band then you should get this album its another solid addition to the H.I.M. collection.

H.I.M.'s fourth album, LOVE METAL, released in 2003, is another album that all H.I.M. fans can enjoy. This band never ceases to amaze me. Just like their first three albums, LOVE METAL proves that H.I.M. is definitely one of the greatest bands to ever grace our ears.
BURIED ALIVE BY ALIVE
First single from the album. I wasn't too crazy about this song when I first heard it through the speakers of my younger brother's stereo. But after buying this album for myself and listening to the album in its entirety, "Buried Alive By Love" became another one of my H.I.M. favorites. The song is backed with an amazing music video, where actress Juliette Lewis appears.

Second single from the album. Another amazing song.

Free Music Review: If you like depth to your music... you will LOVE this album

I feel that this is HIM's best work yet. Razorblade Romance was what got me hooked on the band in the beginning; I had never heard anything even remotely like this band... It has it all. The music is basically hard goth metal with a hint of industrial. When I first heard their music I didn't know what Genre was so I kept calling it love metal, and then the album came out. They found a way to create something dark, intense, and incredibly beautiful. The lyrics are like poetry for your soul. Also, the singer (Ville) has improved his voice since the last two albums. He was able to find a perfect balance. He sings with passion but doesn't overdue it (like some of the songs in the past). The songs on this album are well written and produce a product that finds its way into the deepest part of your being and keeps you wanting more.
My favorite off of this one is "The Path". I also really like "Sweet Pandemonium" and "The Sacrament" although the whole album is really great.

This latest release "Love Metal" shows HIM has grown up a bit as a whole, while still staying true to where they started. Fans definitely shouldn't be disappointed by this CD. Every song heavy or beautiful, has alot of strength behind it.
You'll find on here some of HIM's greatest musical accomplishments to date. I believe "The Path" is one of the most beautiful and well written songs I've heard by any musician.
If you've listened to HIM's previous releases you can expect the same overall flavor of "Love Metal" but it's definitely not to be overlooked.
BUT - this American release is the version thats easier on your wallet but as usual, it has cheapened content as do many "import to american" releases. The import versions contain extra music videos and tracks. I know the one I have included the bonus track "Love's Requiem" (very good song) and the music video for "Buried Alive By Love" (featuring Juliette Lewis)

just thought you guys might like to know - at first i thought him did stand for his infernal majesty but on their website ([...]) ville valo says it doesn't and it pisses him off to hear people say so. according to ville, him doesn't stand for anything.
also, don't expect another rasmus. him is to the rasmus what an adult is to a teddy bear (a.k.a. laurie) don't get me wrong though, i like the rasmus too they are just totally different - i'd call them more punk.
and i thought i'd share some interesting info from him's site - apparently ville had a flu when they were working on this album and was running a high fever while writing the lyrics - that's why they are kinda wierd. he says something like - it used to be hold each other and eat a gun, now it's hold the gun and eat each other.
