Free Music Review: Probably my favorite H.I.M. Album

A lot of the reviews on this page seem to like throwing around the word heavy when describing this album. This album is not heavy, this is pretty damned mellow. This is not a bad thing, I just hate it when uninformed reviewers mislead people as to something's content. Musically, this album is just awesome. The guitar particularly seems to play a bigger part on this album than on previous HIM releases. This could be what misleads people to saying that this album is heavy. Ville's singing still gives the songs that distinctive melancholy quality, but it almost seems like some of the songs have a very major feel to them. There are some pretty good rock songs on here like "Buried alive by love" and "Beyond Redemption" while there are some good easy listening tracks too, such as "fortress of tears" and "funeral of hearts". Some tracks seem like they are going for more...showy i guess would be the best word...than they really are capable of and that makes it hard to take some of the songs seriously, but the musical arrangements are very good and the music itself is well written and pretty catchy, making this album well worth the money.Free Music Review: Very Good

I am new to HIM and so far have "Love Metal",Deep Shadows and brillant highlights", and "Dark Light.They are a great band,and so far I like all of their songs. Now,I'm wondering;can anyone tell me why groups like " End of Green" The Last Dance, My Dad is Dead, Dreadful Shadows,(I think they disbanded unfortunetely),Ikon and Xymox never seem to make it in the US.MDID and Last Dance are from the US.I was just wondering;could it be that not everyone can listen to jazz,dance music,heavy metal,christian rock,Country music,and even classical and semi classical (like myself-not everyone can listen to 8 or 9 different kinds of music,but hopefullymost people can listen to more than one kind of music. Anyway,for anyone interested;look up the above mentioned groups on google(they are all rock/mild metal(MDID has free downloads).Now,back to HIM;they are a great band and have really great melodies,and I intend to get their other albums,definitely,their next one. <livinon@hotmail.com>Free Music Review: Love Metal

1. "Buried Alive By Love" - Love the music here.
2. "The Funeral of Hearts" - LOVE IT. HANDS DOWN, ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!
3. "Beyond Redemption" - Good song.
4. "Sweet Pandemonium" - I like it, but not over tracks 2 and 6.
5. "Soul on Fire" - Love when he says "Soul On Fire" in the song. Musically good.
6. "The Sacrament" - LOVE IT. HANDS DOWN, ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!
7. "This Fortress of Tears" - Like it a lot. Growing on me each time I listen to it.
8. "Circle of Fear" - Good song.
9. "Endless Dark" - Good song.
10. "The Path" - Musically/vocally awesome when it's at the chorus.
11. "Love's Requiem" * - I LOVE IT from 6:00 on musically & vocally. a VERY LONG song though.

This CD is a great buy! It's a lot heavier then their other albums, but if you're into metal like my self then I highly recommend you buy this cd...only if your a true H.I.M. fan that is. If you just like them cause their popular, or because BAM said so, or even if your reason is "Well Hot Topic says their cool" then I think you should go back to your Good Charlotte emo crap and stay away from good music all together.The best songs on this album are Fotress of Tears and Sweet Pandemonium. All the songs are great, but those are just my favorites. Anyways, their a great band and if your willing to take a chance and spend the money then I highly suggest you do.Free Music Review: Very Good

I am very happy that my friend told me about HIM about a year ago. HIM is a very different band that is "Love Metal", which is also the title of this CD. Anyways about this CD... To me, it succeeds way more than it doesn't. There are some ballady like songs (Funeral of Hearts, Fortress of Tears) rockish songs (Buried Alive By Love, Beyond Redemption) and some others I don't know how to classify. Well overall this CD is super catchy. A few of the songs took a while to grow on me but now i luv em.
