Free Music Notes for Razorblade RomanceFree Music Review: Devil's Delight Hit: 5 Stars
Ok, i have known about HIM for about like 5 years now, so its kinda odd to hear about so many people liking them here in the states, but that is awesome cause more people are hearing great music. On with the review, this cd is amazing from beginning to end. I have owned it for 4 years now and listen to it from start to finsih every time, it's that good. Ville Valo has an amazing voice that has an intresting voice, from kinda low to high. Linde is an amazing guitar player and further proves it as "Daniel Lioneye" (credit is given to Daniel Lioneye for playing lead guitar on Razorblade Kiss, which is Linde the guitar player in HIM they are the same guy)The guitars are heavy and add a new demension to the songs with the underlying acoustic guitar in the background of almost every song. I think their use of the keyboards is very good, it usually takes each song to a new level, mainly giving them an almost ethereal feel to them. I think HIM have something here for everyone, male or female, heavy metal people and those who like softer music. Tracks like Heaven Tonight and Gone With the Sin have a vibe to them that remind me of a bunch of guys around a camp fire with some acoustic guitars having a good time. While Right Here in my Arms and Sigillum Diaboli Razorblade Kiss and Death is in Love with Us all have loud distorted guitars and memorable choruses and amazing solos, there are two solos on RHIMA if you listen closely in the background for the second one while the first one is playing. Overall i guess if you are even reading this thinking about buys a HIM cd you are somewhat intrested in buying this cd so i suggest you do it cause it is well worth the money and its a very diverse collection of music something here for everyone. And on a final note i highly recommend putting on Heaven Tonight when you and that special someone are sharing a romantic moment, if you know what i mean, it just adds to the whole mood.
Free Music Review: Never thought I'd actually enjoy this!!! Hit: 5 Stars
I heard some really good things about HIM but I was kinda sceptical about buying this cd cause I heard they call themselves "love Metal". I didn't really understand the whole "love metal" thing except that every song was about love, heartbreak and just the whole feeling of love in general and how it can be spectacular at times but it has some very tramatic reactions at times. That is exactly what "razerblade romance" is all about. Love, heartbreak and how love can be great but it can also be tramatic and how it can destroy some people. I absolutly loved this album! It's one of those cd's where you just can't skip any songs! Every time I listen to it, it's hard to skip a song! I just highly recomend that you don't listen to some of the songs if you just get over a breakup! Believe me, I just recently got dumped by a girl where the relationship was pretty serious, so the whole break up was pretty tramatic, and believe me, some of these songs will depress you to the end if you are just getting over a break up. If you are just getting over it and feeling fine, and then listen to some of the songs, you'll get sad all over again. So be warned if you just got your heart broken! Overall, I really enjoyed the album, My favorite songs on it are "your sweet six six six" "join me in death" "right here in my arms" "bury me deep inside your heart" "wicked game" "I love you(perlude to a tragedy)" "gone with the sin" "resurrection" "death is in love with us" "sigillum diaboli" and "one last time"......wow..that's pretty much all of the songs except for a few! wow! Well, I highly recomend "razerblade romance" to any HIM fan. I'm gonna go out and buy more albums by HIM such as "love metal" and I'll be back ready to review another awesome HIM experiance!!!
Free Music Review: H.I.M.: Razorblade Romance (1999) Hit: 5 Stars
H.I.M.'s second album, RAZORBLADE ROMANCE, released in 1999, is one hell of a worthy follow-up to that of their debut album, GREATEST LOVESONGS VOL. 666. The album is jam-packed with heavier tunes and lyrics that sound even more poetic than that of the songs on their debut album.
YOUR SWEET SIX SIX SIX (Re-Recorded Version)
Original version from the album GREATEST LOVESONGS VOL. 666 (1997). This remix doesn't sound any different than the original album version, which can be found H.I.M.'s first album. Still a great song.
POISON GIRL
Third single from the album. What an amazing song. Come to think of it, most girls out there today are, indeed, poison.
JOIN ME IN DEATH (Razorblade Mix)
First single from the album. There is no different between the album version and the remix. The piano in this version sounds more synthesized than on the original. The piaon on the original sounds more like a real piano. Great song.
RIGHT HERE IN MY ARMS
Second single from the album. Another great song.
BURY ME DEEP INSIDE YOUR HEART
Great Song.
WICKED GAME (Re-Recorded Version)
Original version from the album GREATEST LOVESONGS VOL. 666 (1997). Still an amazing cover. No difference between both versions.
I LOVE YOU (PRELUDE TO TRAGEDY)
Great.
GONE WITH THE SIN
Fourth & final single from the album. Another great song.
RAZORBLADE KISS
Great.
RESURRECTION
Great.
DEATH IS IN LOVE WITH US
Great.
HEAVEN TONIGHT
Great.
SIGILLUM DIABOLI
Awesome.
ONE LAST TIME.
Awesome.
Free Music Review: The Dissection of an Insult. Hit: 5 Stars
Razorblade Your Wrists to This, February 9, 2004 Reviewer: Surf Colorado from Denver, CO This band is absolute trash!(and he bought it why) Some of the worst music I've ever heard.(Maybe you haven't heard much music then.) I love the CKY videos but Bam should have stuck with just CKY for the soundtracks or better yet have Brandon DiCamillo make up more songs.(Where there is BAM, there is HIM.) H.I.M. must stand for Horrible Idiotic Music because it sounds like the worst noise imaginable.(this guy should start a coverband, HIM--He Is Immature.) Imagine a dump truck backing up at 7am with the "beep beep beep" noise topped off with dragging a metal dumpster along the asphalt, just grinding away what's left of your ears and giving you a headache. That's what HIM sounds like.(you actually listen to dumptrucks, wow.)Wake up kiddies and teeny boppers, just because you love Bam Margera doesn't mean you have to love his favorite band too! THINK FOR YOURSELF! (well, why write this if you want them to think for themselves, you are trying to get them to think like you, you damn hypocrite. go die.)This music is HORRIBLE! Notice how Raab, Rake, Bran and the rest of the crew never sport HIM attire?(they probably cant afford it, theyre so poor) Can you actually call yourself a fan after watching what a tool the lead singer is?(hes not a tool, and yes i can) He looks like more of a flamer than Siegfried & Roy, only not as tan. Excuse me while I go puke... (<---that is the only thing here that i agree with , excuse me while i puke over his stupid review.) text in parantheses is mine...the rest is his..ew..him rules..
Free Music Review: I AM MAD!! Hit: 5 Stars
First of all I would just like to say that HIM is a kick-ass band, I heard of HIM through a punk-rocker at my school. I had went to Hot Topic to buy some stuff and I saw the cd and I freaked! I got through the first 11 seconds of the fist song and said "I am buying it!" It turned to be a one of the best cd's I have bought. I am now a full time HIM fan.Now see I was flipping through some of the reviews and I saw some of the most offensive thing's about this band. I love AFI that is my favorite band but when I heard this one comment about how Ville (vocals of HIM) looks like Davey Havock (vocals of AFI), I got pissed! Ok I don't know if this world has gone blind, but seriously I think it has. VILLE AND DAVEY LOOK NOTHING ALIKE YOU STUPID IDIOTIC FREAKS! Just because they both have black hair it does not mean it gives them the same facial qualitys. I also saw another one that said that everyone likes HIM just because of Bam Margera. Actually I can prove that that is not true. If you go to England basically all of the people who love HIM don't even know who Bam is. The one thing that pissed me off the most is that some people think that being a rock band means your not supposed to like pink but you can like purple. THAT'S STUPID! Punk-rockers, skaters and goths wear pink for godsake and there not girlie! (I would know I'm a hardcore goth) Your not against them are you? Of course not! Cause liking the color pink has nothing to do with feminism! OK ALL YOU IGNORRANT PEOPLE!? I'm just sick and tired of all the stupid people who don't know the meaning of a good band. Hope y'all enjoy the cd!
