Free Music Notes for Razorblade Romance

Free Music Review: Finally!!! The USA can experience LOVE METAL!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

It has taken three years for H.I.M. to finally get the recogintion they deserve and have "Razorblade Romance" properly released in the States (it was released late last year or early this year by a small label back East with the band changing their name to HER for the American audience). Universal Records should be praised for signing this amazing band, as well as Bam Margera for being über fan number one. Hopefully we won't have to wait nearly as long for "Deep Shadows..." and "Love Metal" to get proper releases.
I was fortunate to be introduced to H.I.M. on New Years Day of 2001, and have spent the better part of the past three years grabbing as many of the bands releases as I could, and "Razorblade" is far and away my favorite (this is my third copy, and third different version of the album), with none of the other three full releases falling too far behind. They mix amazing vocals, even more amazing lyrics, with a musicianship that can't be described.
H.I.M. is definately a band that will appeal to a mass audience and fails to stick to one particular genere(for better or for worse). Metalheads will love them because of the music, Goths will love them because Ville has a brooding appearance, sings of love, despair, and death (and is actually talented unlike Mr. Manson), fans of Bam will love them out of reverance for Mr. Margera.
They are truely unlike anything we have heard, and hopefully people will embrace H.I.M., a band who is tough to catogorize, but is easily summed up..... LOVE Music Review: Another Hit From "His Infernal Majesty"
Hit: 5 Stars The sensual heartagram symbol says it all; the soft, innocent, and painful sound of love. It surrounds each and every one of us, but only this one love metal Finnish band "HIM" can come up with such a thing--the third yet unforgettable album "Razorblade Romance."
This CD, released just four years ago; took its place on the US shelves in most music stores not too long ago. It contains some of the best 14 love songs defining love metal music.
Starting with the first song on the CD "Your sweet six six six," going down to the rock/metal mix sound of the 80's love classic "Wicked Game," and ending with one of the softest heart breaking songs "One Last Time," this CD promises to keep your heart beating, while taking you on an emotional roller coaster. It has its own sharp turns, ups and downs. And it is all for the better, providing music for all kinds of music tastes.
Even if you aren't much of a rocker/goth fan, you'll find this CD irresistable. The sound isn't like the expected, normal metal sounds; even though it consists of heavy guitar beats, it has a very soft touch to it, which brings an eerie feeling in the air. It is an emotion provoking CD, that would often leave you lost in thought with a couple of tears rolling down your cheeks.
"His Infrenal Majesty" managed to come up with something of an even bigger and better importance, and there are no doubts that this would be a one of a kind CD out there. Don't miss out this big opportunity to place this Finnish band where it deserves to be!

Free Music Review: I KNEW THEY'D FINALLY HIT IT BIG HERE!!!--AWESOME DISC
Hit: 5 Stars

I picked up this CD almost 4 years ago now while travelling Europe. This band was all over the TV and as soon as i heart their music i went out while in Berlin and picked up the CD. I listened to it for the 4 weeks i was over there and by the time i came back to the States i was raving to my friends about this fantastic new band. I waited and waited thinking soon they'd be seen on MTV and across radios--only a matter of time until they'd take off. Well i guess it took 4 years and BAM MARGERA that idiot to bring H.I.M. to the US. I wish i'd have approached some record companies myself because i knew that this disc was a stellar one that simply is much better than most of the garbage on radio today. If you haven't yet--BUY THIS DISC. They also have followed this one (2nd) with 2 more so you should really go out and buy those 2 as well. This band sells millions of records across Europe and has sold out huge venues for some time-----get on board because they're coming to tour here in April. Every song on this CD is a good one---go to their website (Google search H.I.M. i think the website is Heartagram or something like that but you can listen to all their albums (clips) there) I can't say enough positive about them---Hard Rock/Metal with soft lyrics and vocals---unique but great to those who love metal but not the dark/rough/shouting kind...this is pleasant to the ear, melodic but still tough.

Free Music Review: Decadent... like rock used to be
Hit: 5 Stars

It is always something when a band works, especially where its band members have diffrent music taste can actually combine and create something unique.

The "goths" want dark, vampire-esotera and they want it now. The "metalheads" want screeching vocals and mechanistic, precision drumming and now. And the "glam rockers" want thier gutter elegance idols and trashy glamour now. The rest of us without the pretentious kiddy lable can do all of that and put each scene in a blender and be happy.

This all afforded HIM a great opportunity to smash some walls, unfortunately to the dismay of too many scenesters that cannot see beyond thier noses and evolve thier taste.

Then you end up in reality and without scenester polotics with HIM... HIM have a simple sound and driving rythems. They have tastes of glam/metal/dirgish-goth and they do this sound with such a pop hook catchyness its infectious.

Ville Valo sings with such vocal flair its like watching David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Stephen Tyler, Mick Jagger strut the stage with real rock and roll style.

If you like HIM at all chances are they will grow on you as time goes on. New crossing of music styles can be like tasting a new wine... you've never tasted anything like it and then you realize thats quite possibly the reason you want another taste of it.

Free Music Review: The Most Depressing Loves Songs You'll Ever Hear
Hit: 5 Stars

For those who are curious but unfamiliar, HIM is a Rock band from Finland who are currently causing a buzz in the USA... without much help from MTV or the Radio by the way. Their strength lies in their superior song writing which is catchy (not in a manufactured corporate pop way), yet hard and heavy. They've also got a singer who has a wonderful voice who can hit the high notes and drop to a deep baritone as well. Their music can be described as a combination of 80's "Stadium Goth" and good old fashioned Hard Rock, with an element all their own. I can draw comparisons to The Mission, The Cult and some 80's Pop-Metal. They're also infamous for writing songs that are almost exclusively about extremely unhealthy romantic relationships. Obsession, death, lust, emotional masochism, codependence, and even suicide are all topics covered in the band's exploration of the dark side of love. The incredibly bittersweet melodies, impassioned vocals and subtle sense of humor save these songs from being sappy and corny. By the way, for those that are wondering, the parental advisory sticker is probably for the fact that young, impressionable, hormone riddled ears would be listening to songs with lyrics like "Would you die tonight for love? Baby, join me in death." and "This life aint worth living."
