I bought this CD to replace my old cassette of "Stoneage Romeos" that i played to death. This record is one of my top five favorite albums of all time. They are a really great band . A definite 60s influence although it was recorded in the 80s, but a very timeless sound, not at all dated. They have their own thing going on, a very listenable Rock n Roll with a Beatlesque influence. Along with really great songwriting that's catchy and memorable.
Put Power pop together with a little bit of "The Cramps" sound and you have a great band with A RECORD THAT DOES NOT HAVE ONE BAD SONG. Melodic and memorable, every song could be a hit single. This Australian band is at their peak on their best record. Jangley Byrds style gutar with an edge, Great lyrics and unforgettable songs. A very Unique band, popular in their day they are now a cult that deserves wider recognition - CHECK THE "HOODOO GURUS -STONEAGE ROMEOS" OUT !! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED !!!
