Free Music Notes for Hootie & The BlowfishFree Music Review: Good, but a little to country for me... Hit: 4 Stars
I had never heard any Hootie & The Blowfish songs until I heard them at the free concert that they gave during Mardi Gras at Universal Studios Florida. I thought they were good, but not great until after the show when I couldn't get the song Tears Fall Down and Space out of my head. Soon after, I went out and bought the CD. The cd could be better, but it's still enjoyable, although a few songs start sounding a bit too much like country for my tastes. Otherwise, it's a great cd with the best song being "Space" and the second best being "Tears fall down." If you've never heard them before, I reccomend you give Hootie & the Blowfish a try!!!

... Then, Hootie and the Blowfish put out a disc, seemingly out of nowhere. So many people these days seem drawn to angst-metal rawk, where anti-image and talent seem to be in vogue. Well, these guys can actually PLAY, WRITE, and PERFORM LIVE! Well crafted songs, great harmonies (so sadly missing these days) and a great, soulful singer in Darius Rucker. I truly feel all 3 of their albums before this were great, and they don't disappoint here either. It seems so fashionable to trash this band. I think they're great, and so do a lot of other people who are fans of melodic music with a heart!
Free Music Review: good stuff, keep making records please Hit: 4 Stars
After hearing "innocence" a couple days ago on hootie's website, I realized how much I had missed this group. Just got the cd and it is just off the meat rack. Hootie still knows how to put together some great songs, and they just keep coming on this new disc. I don't care what the critics say--they are the same people that gave Hootie props back in the day and then sold 'em out later on. Go pick up this cd, you won't be sorry.
Free Music Review: homespun rock classic Hit: 4 Stars
Hootie is back with a great record. Nevermind all the critics or what Mtv is playing these days--you won't find a band that can put together a great song like Hootie does time and again. This is good stuff, and I wish that Hootie would put out a record every month or so. These guys are the real deal, no phony image or video hoz', just musicians putting out great records and playing live.
Free Music Review: A Welcome Surprise Hit: 4 Stars
When I first heard Cracked Rear View I thought it was one of the best CDs I've ever heard. It continues to be my favorite. Subsequent Hootie CDs never measured up to their debut recording. But this new CD knocked my socks off! Buy this CD. You will not be disappointed!
