Free Music Review: HOOTIE IS BACK!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

For the 15 million individuals (you know who you are) that abandoned Hootie and the Blowfish after the mammoth sales of 1994's Cracked Rear View, this record marks a return to the sound that made the band a household name in 1995 and a national punchline only a year later. After 1996's Fairweather Johnson went for a slightly darker, less-polished sound and 1998's Musical Chairs covered every genre, Hootie and the Blowfish is a good old fashioned rock n roll record, and probably the best you'll hear this year. From the up-tempo opener "Deeper Side" to the get-out-of-your-seat rocking of "Go and Tell Him (Soup Song)," this record bursts out of the speakers. On the song "Space," Hootie reach a new musical peak, crafting one of the finest songs ever to be recorded (if you think I am over-exaggerating, just give it a listen.) Even the ballads are great, especially the solemn "Tears Fall Down," but they are overshadowed by Hootie's fantastic rock songs. "I'll Come Runnin'" and "The Rain Song" are destined to be stuck in your head for weeks, as well as the power-ballad first single, "Innocence." So, for anyone who jumped on the bandwagon 8 years ago, I would encourage you to jump back on. I've never heard a bandwagon that sounds this good.

Free Music Review: I am a Hootie fan and I am Proud!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the first Hootie and the Blowfish CD I have ever purchased and I think it is absolutely great! I have heard that back in the States being a Hootie fan is somehow equated with being square and uncool. If that is the case, then I will shout it from the rooftops, " I think Hootie and the Blowfish are the bomb! If that makes me a square so be it!"
These days, there is a preponderance of people that think being lazy and rude are admirable traits. They listen to music by artists that belittle and disparage others in order to hide their own lack of imagination and real talent. According to them, killing and robbing are justifiable pastimes. After listening to Hootie, I feel warm and cuddly inside. You can't help but like the songs, "Tears Fall Down" and "Innocence". If the American public is too jaded to enjoy Hooties's music anymore, it is indeed a sad testament to what my beloved home has become. Fortunately, here in Thailand, they still appreciate great song writing! My advice to all the "good" people back home is to go out and buy this CD. Show the record companies what we really want to hear!

Free Music Review: A Rock Album That Shouldnt Be Overlooked
Hit: 5 Stars

Hootie and the Blowfish return in a big way with this latest album. It's been a while since we've heard from them but this new set of songs makes up for it in a matter of 45mins and every listen thereafter. If you are a fan of great music, by true musicians, this CD is perfect. Producer Don Was really works his magic, giving a crisp, tight sound very similar to that of a live show... and any Hootie fan knows the Blowfish put on an awesome show. This CD has it all, from the upbeat rockers "Deeper Side," "Space," and "Go Tell Him" to the somber tear jerkers "I'll Come Running" (written for those leaving to fight for our country) and "Tears Fall Down." Rucker proves his voice is among the elite; while Bryan, Felber, and Sonefeld back him up with their flawless harmonies and memorable musical sets. If you've ever owned a Hootie album in the past, or you're ready to give these artists a listen for the first time, you won't be disappointed. Hootie and the Blowfish have returned in style... and rightfully so.

Free Music Review: they are back, sounding as great as ever!
Hit: 5 Stars

Make no mistake, HBF are back, and they sound as wonderful and full of energy as ever. yes, the new album is full of ballads, but also some very good classic Hootie tunes as well. From the opening bars of Deeper Side, to the ending of the hidden track "alright" this album rocks and proves that the boys have not lost their magic touch. You get a distinct Cracked Rear View flash back when you hear Space, and I'll Come Running, and you will be playing this cd over and over again. The catchy, surprising tune, "little brother" was an awesome addition to their classic sound. Darius' voice has never sounded so strong, and the guys sound better than they did back in 1995. Get this cd, you will not be disappointed. It has not left my cd player since I bought it on the release day.
