This Album is greatest. I like the way they chose to explore other instruments and expand their musical talent. Right now there are a lot of bands out that are focused on what is the cool thing and just trying to make a lot of money. Not Hootie.....They focused on making great music. This album is very disverse, fun and almost as good as them live. Although if anyone ever gets a chance to see them live. Take it you will not regret it. They are awesome. It is like a huge party... The Song "Only Lonely" is the best song on this CD. Listen to the beautiful string section in this song! When you hear it behind Darius Ruckers great vocals it's like looking at a wonderful painting and enjoying all the colors of the painting. Outstanding! Saw Hootie & Blowfish sing this song live on David Letterman with a full string section and it sounded great! Also, this song clearly shows that a string section does indeed have a place in rock music. I am continuously surprised at the relatively low sales level of Hootie's "Musical Chairs." It is, in my opinion, their best effort to date. The music is full of feeling and power and the diversity of their talent shines. If you liked "Cracked Rear View", you will love "Musical Chairs." If you ever had any doubt about just how sweet the sound of Darius Rucker's voice is, you will find out just how flexible he (and the rest of the band) is on this CD. The first time that I heard of Hootie and the blowfish was on an episode of friends and ever since then I've been hooked. This is a top album and one of the best that I have ever bought. The album shows a different variety of songs going from a country feel, to rock songs. My favourite songs on the album are"closet full of fear" and "what do you want from me now." If you like to chill in the summer then this is the sort of album to do it to, it is totally worth the money. Go get it now!Free Music Review: Fun

I loved Cracked Rear View. Fairweather Johnson lacked center but was necessary to the development of the band. Musical Chairs is absolutely amazing!! I can't pick a favorite song, but I often listen to "Only Lonely" because it's just so darn pretty. As made obvious by the video for "I Will Wait" a lot of fun was obviously had in the making of this album, and that alone could persuade you to buy it. It's not often that we come across a group who LIKES to be happy.
