Free Music Notes for Musical ChairsFree Music Review: Return to their roots - Hootie excels Hit: 5 Stars
Cracked Rear View took the nation by storm and Fairweather Johnson was good, but a little stilted. Musical Chairs is a return to what Hootie does best -- original Americana in a variety of musical formats. Too bad it is released so late in the year because it is perfect music to blast in your car, with the top down, as you head to the beach! Numbers won't tell the story of the success of this album--it probably won't sell quite as well as CRV, but it is every bit as good. Trust me!
Free Music Review: Hootie & The Blowfish Continue To Grow Hit: 5 Stars
Like Matchbox Twenty, who followed in their footsteps, Hootie & The Blowfish, combine alterna-pop, Southern Rock, and heartland rock, but add a folk influence to their sound. This album shows considerable growth from their first two, without losing the excitement of CRACKED REAR VIEW, but pulling back on some of the dark tones of FAIRWEATHER JOHNSON. This album has as many potential singles as CRACKED REAR VIEW, and several of its songs were hits. Get this one after CRACKED REAR VIEW.
Free Music Review: Musical Chairs BEST Hit: 5 Stars
Ladies and Gentlemen let me tell you.. This album is the absolute best work from this band.. From beginning to end the lyrics are unbelievable and the closer you listen to and read the lyrics they begin to come from your own heart.. we have all been there in relationships and dating and every single song hits a key in my heart and the heart of fans everywhere.. "take a little bit of everything baby, it will be all right.. dont just settle for living the lie that i thought you might"
Free Music Review: Hootie & the Blowfish showing true talent Hit: 5 Stars
After Fairweather Johnson many critics and fans decided they had lost their touch but that is obviously not the case. This cd has some great songs and all of them have a certain depth to them. One of the best has to be the ballad "Only Lonely" apparently someone thought it sounded good because it is going to be on the "Message in a Bottle" soundtrack. Wishing, What's going on here and others show that the band still has that irreplaceable talent.
Free Music Review: 17 bucks is totally worth it! Hit: 5 Stars
I heard the song "Only Lonely (on the inside)" on an episode in "Dawson's Creek" and I taught it was extremely good. The song reminded me of "Edwin McKain's I'll Be" which was really good, but this is better. It is the type of song that will brainwash you to listen to it every single minute. Can't tell you anymore details. Buy the album and you'll understand what I mean. Hey! you might even get hooked on it like I did.
