Free Music Notes for World Upside DownFree Music Review: OMG Where Have These Guys Been Hit: 5 StarsI must have been under a rock someplace, I stumbled into these guys by accident and this is the sound I have been looking for. To me its like the best of Dokken and Scorpions combined, "These Eyes" is easily one of the best tracks I have listened to in years. If you like rock with some melody and harmony this is what you want. 5 stars easily earned .....
Free Music Review: Very Good Hit: 5 StarsI actually purchased this, because of the title, I had a very bad year last year, and indeed my World was Upside Down, but upon listening to the CD I love it, good music always puts me in a better frame of mind, I recognized some of the names of the artists involved in the making of this CD, it is always fun to get recommendations from u and it's fun to get to hear music from artists that I grew up with, that u don't get to hear on the radio anymore, so many artists from the late 70's and 80's
have broken off and have gotten themselves involved with many different
bands, and their names are kind of kept low keyed, that's why I'm glad u recommend these artists to me. Thxs
Free Music Review: Quality Songs From First to Last Hit: 4 StarsJimi Bell's seering riffs are the "secret sauce" that sets this CD apart. James' singing is as good as ever and the quality of the songwriting is impressive. There are not any "duds" on this CD. Admittedly, no track matches the magic of "Can't Find My Way Home", but the overall quality of the songs is consistent. The sound has an 80's Journey feel, but it is probably more comparable to an early Dokken album - melodic metal with George Lynch-ish style solos. Can't wait for the followup in 2008.
Free Music Review: Quality Songs from First to Last Hit: 4 StarsU.S. version of the import thus the lower price. Jimi Bell's seering riffs are the "secret sauce" that sets this CD apart. Free Music Review: Best CD Yet By House Of Lords Hit: 5 StarsThis is the best CD the band has released yet, The musicianship is better than all their previous releases. This is the comeback CD that should of been released instead of "The Power & The Myth". If they had released this disc first they would of had better momentum and would of reclaimed a larger part of their fan base. The best songs on the disc are "These Are the Times", "All The Way To Heaven", "All The Pieces Falling", & "World Upside Down" you could actually list all the tracks from the CD as the best songs, that's how strong this CD is. If you are a long time fan this is the CD to get to come back into the fold.
If you are new fan checking them out for the first time this is a great place to start. After that do yourself a favour and pick up their CD "Sahara" their cover of "Can't Find My Way Home" by Blind Faith is hands down the best cover tune ever. After that go and get yourself the two "Giuffria" releases you'll love them, also check out "Angel" if you can find them they were one of very few bands in the mid to late 70's who were out there rocking.
