Free Music Notes for The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers (The Complete Recordings)Free Music Review: The Ultimate TTT Soundtrack Hit: 5 Stars
If you're a fan of The Lord of the Rings, you're going to want to pick this up, and go to the product's website (just search yahoo for "Lord of the Rings complete recordings") and download the free liner notes, which are like a 50 page pdf document that has a track by track analysis, photos, a listing of the instruments, lyrics, and a ton of other information. Best yet, the liner notes are free! (In fact, if you're an LOTR fan you're going to want to download this whether you buy this or not.) Also, be sure to pick up The Lord of the Films to complete your collection.
As for the Complete Recordings collection, it includes more than just highlights, more than just the music from the theatrical cut, and more than just the music from the extended editions: it includes all that plus unused concepts that were edited out of the picture. It's the ultimate collection!
Free Music Review: Perfect Balance of Awe and Charm Hit: 5 Stars
In my opinion, Two Towers: Complete Recordings has some of the best tracks of the whole trilogy in its score. As a pivotal turning-point in Tolkien's epic, it has awe-inspiring tracks such as "Theoden Rides Forth" (Gandalf's Charge into Helm's Deep), "The Tales That Really Matter" (aftermath of Frodo's faceoff with the RingWraith), and "Last March of the Ents".
As well, it contains the charming tracks associated with the Ents and Fangorn Forest(Entmoot Decides, Dreams of Trees) and reiterates on the themes familiar with the Fellowship of the Ring in "Faramir's Good Counsel", "Glamdring", and "Elven Rope".
Finally, it contains the wonderful sounds of Rohan (Edoras, Court of Meduseld, "Where is the Horse and Rider?") that can only remind the listener of those wonderful moments when the Horse-Masters are introduced.
A five-star rating is just too small for this soundtrack!
Free Music Review: Beautiful Hit: 5 Stars
Not quite as good as the first one, but close enough. This does suffer from being the middle of three. It starts slowly and builds to its great music. The Rohan themes are particularly awesome. When Theoden draws his sword and recovers his strength, you can absolutely feel the triumph. The tragic moments of the film come across excellently as well. The one area that makes this one not as good in my eyes is the travel scenes. You could feel the depth and majesty middle Earth, the ponderous weight of the Misty Mountains in the Fellowship DVD. Not so much of that here.
Buy it anyway. It's way more compelling than the soundtracks released so far.
Free Music Review: another LOTR must have Hit: 5 Stars
if you liked the LOTR:FOTR-Complete recordings, go ahead and pony up and get this one. It too is excellent.
This one includes some good stuff too.
1. Arwen singing as Theodred is being entombed.
2. the song sung as Aragorn reflects on Arwen on the road to helms deep
3. the song singing as Aragorn clings to life on the river bank
4. song as Haldir's life slips away from him during the battle of helms deep
these are some of the extras that i dont believe were on the soundtrack (some that is, esp #1) and good additions.
am eagerly awaiting the complete recordings of RTOK
Free Music Review: The perfect gift for any LOTR movies fan Hit: 5 Stars
...and by the title I mean any LOTR movies fan that hasn't bought it yet. Just like the FOTR's set this is a unique purchase.
Introducing new themes to the ones carved in the Fellowship, Howard Shore provides Rohan with this sentiment of lost proud and honor that surrounds any people forced to abandon their homeland, with Gollum's music enhance the battle inside Smeagol, portrays the grief and mourn of Middle Earth peoples, their pain and dispair, with strength and hope regained through the sounds of "Gandalf the White", "The host of the Eldar" and "Theoden rides forth".
