I've been a fan of Huey Lewis and the News since I was in my teens. They are still such a great band. While I have a few of their cd's, I wanted this one so ALL of my favourite songs of theirs are on one cd.
To me there are heaps of standout songs, but my favourite one by far is If This Is It. I also really love Stuck With You, I Want A New Drug and Hip To Be Square. These guys still have it going on and there are some great jams here. If you are a fan of them already, you'll love this cd; if you don't know a lot of their music, then this is a great place to learn.

THis is the Huey Lewis album that anyone should have in their collection. It contains all of the classics from the eighties, and a few of his newer songs, Like "crusein'" from his 2000 movie duets. Hard to find a better compilation on one disc for Huey, although all of their albuns are great, this collection is the best bang for the buck. Check it out, more affordable than ever here on amazon. A group responsible for some of the most broadly appealing music of the 80s, Huey Lewis & The News could rock out (Heart & Soul, The Heart Of Rock & Roll), demonstrate marvelous pop sensibility (The Power Of Love, If This Is It), and even get kinda soulful (Doing It All For My Baby, Stuck With You). All of those great hits are included here, plus several others (Hip To Be Square, I Want A New Drug, and their brilliant cover of "It's Alright" by J.J. Saying I'm a big HLN fan is an understatement. I have all their albums. What was missing were the single edits of many of my favorites. This album has many of those. I got the version with the music videos too. These guys had some truly great videos and those are included with that version. Many "greatest" CDs are barely OK. Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.
